8 Changes that I would like to see, prior to next game.

Cousins can distribute the ball to play makers and hes a good guy. That will make we feel good cheering for him on Sunday! As it is a lot of us will be booing Griffin off the field Sunday! Bro, you are preaching to the choir. I said a while back I do think he worked to get the coach fired, and it was a mistake. Kid has all the athletic gifts one could ever ask for. I think his issues are attitude and a sense of entitlement. As a six year Marine vet, I know I would either have to break him or destroy him, but no way in hell would I coddle him.

Also Im going to toss it out there now. If we lose this weekend and griffin continues to look like a game manager with slight deer in headlights tendencies... you will start to hear the question more and more "Should the redskins give Cousins a shot?"

For the sanity of some fans on this board I actually hope we see the RG3 of 2012 this weekend. If that guy comes back, I can give him my support. But if JC2.0 continues to trot out every week (politically correct side ways answers and all)... well lets just say I think last years dysfunction will rear its ugly head again.

I will take a swing at that one.

1. The coach who drafted Smith was fired, and the new coach coming in did draft his replacement and stopgapped Smith.

2. And I know this is a sore subject, but face facts. When you invest as much as we did in a player, you are not expecting to get a 5 year project.

3. For every Alex Smith Experiment you have a Jimmy Clausen, Brandon Weedon, Jamarcus Russell where a team realizes they made a mistake and moves on quickly. Im not calling for Griffin to be benched and shipped offthis second. But if the best we get out of him this year is average, and this team is still in the 3-13 range, barring some serious production from him that says otherwise, you have atleast got to consider an open competition.

Not sure i"m following. Smith was drafted the same time Mike Nolan was hired as HC in '05. Nolan was fired in the middle of '08 and was replaced by Mike Singeltary. That regime game Smith 3 plus full years. Smith survived in '09 despite horrible play and being put in and out of the lineup with the even worse Troy Smith by Singletary. It wasn't until Haurbaugh arrived 2 years later prior to the 2011 season, after Smith's 6th season, could he be considered a stopgap as Haurbaugh's regime signed him to a one year deal.

The lesson: When you invest a lot (in this case the #1 overall pick) you have to give it time to play out. Smith survived open competitions with JT O'Sullivan, Shawn Hill and Troy Smith. Lesson #2: the backup in the vast majority of cases is not the better option, even when your young starter is really really struggling.

Please do not bring up Jimmy Klaussen, Weeden or Jamarcus Russell as we discuss RGIII. Those guys could not hit what they were throwing at, period. Not even the same animal really as Griffin.

OK I just stumbled on this little gem. I don't give a rat's ass if you have calmed down. You just called me an ignorant fuck while pimping a QB with worse numbers across the board in every possible category. If I were you I would not be so quick to throw out he term ignorant.

When did I ever claim RGIII is a good QB right now? I said all along that he has shown potential and has produced at this level (unlike notable busts in the past), has some very good tools but he obviously has things to work on. My position is it's way to early to bail in him given the talent he had, the potential he holds, the investment they have made and with no viable alternative (IMO but backup up by facts). You on the other hand are no better than the fans in Philly.

Now it appears as if that hope is in trouble, again for the 10th time I see the problems and I"m concerned too. But I"m sorry, switching to Kirk Cousins at this point is just a crazy alternative. I don't want to continue to trash a Redskins, especially a good guy like Cousins, but posts like yours forces my hand.

Again he has had chances. Name me one other backup who was given a 3 game trial against horrible defenses when the starter was able to play? If you claim those games somehow don't count or weren't enough evidence then I can't argue with you anymore, you are too stubborn. He has had chances, many more than any other backup QB starting his 3rd year. Again he has not shown enough to warrant replacing Robert Grifin III.

Finally I am not suggesting he needs to be coddled. Far from it. But by now I think he gets the message, fans are frustrated. But I just don't see what good booing him on Sunday after the first 3 and out will do. By all accounts he is working very very hard to improve. Is anyone ready to debate this? He has not done a good job of taking responsibility in the past, I totally agree, but that's exactly what he did on Sunday. The very thing you haters were complaining about HE DID.

Again look at Troy Aikman's numbers his first 2 season. 32 INTs and QB ratings of 55 and 66. There is no doubt many Dallas fans were screaming for his backup, Steve Walsh. But did they boo him off the field at the start of year 3? I honestly do not know but if they did they were clearly wrong.

Again not asking you to love him. And for hopefully for the last time I am not making excuses for his issues, they are very real. But when (not if) the fans boo him on Sunday just one year removed from a record setting rookie year you are no better than Philly Fan. I just don't see what purpose it serves other than to make our fan base look like Philly Fan.

ATL- We lost by one when we had 7 turnovers. KC was responsible for three but explain how Moss and Morris get away with two fumbles each and you blame the QB. And while KC had three turnovers, he also had 3 TD passes.

DAL- Very RG3 like stats from last season.

NYG- WTH happened in that game? Was that the bad weather game because KC stats were atrocious.


Now we can mention Jordan Reed as well...our second leading pass catcher missing those games. We can mention the 300+ yards that KC threw against ATL being the most yards a Redskin QB threw since week 3.

For me...

I think the point here is NOT about giving Capt Kirk a fair shot, but more about the fact that for now, our QB is not KC, so he gets a shot at nothing except the bench for now...

I'm not interested in KC speculation, until and unless Griff proves he is not continuously progressing...
