Colon I bet has a not so great record vs the Giants. He basically only throws fastballs, so hacking kind of works vs him.

As much as we (I) harp on it, first-pitch-swinging is the way to go in the majors. BAs on the first pitch are SIGNIFICANTLY higher than on any other pitch, save for MAYBE 3-0 counts.

It just LOOKS like bad baseball.

Yeah, the point is, which you have pointed out, that they are flyball outs. No way to use his speed there. I am glad when he hits it well, but I'd rather have him hit for average than power. He is not a power guy, though he can hit them out once in a while.
