He sucks. I blame Joe Maddon for this. He killed him in the world series last year. Guy is not the same pitcher he was when the Yanks traded him to the Cubs. Guy used to hit 103-105 with ease last year. Saves were stress free. This year his save attempts are more stressful than Betances back when he was the closer.

Totally agree. So many guys throw hard these days where throwing 101 or 102 isn't a big deal anymore. Batters see that or at least close to it every game so throwing hard with no movement does nothing to hitters anymore.

yeah 100 used to be a rare thing, now kids like kopech in the minors do it routinely. its not the "wow" it used to be.

Yeah. While I think Moncada will be good, I feel like the Sox might miss Kopech more. He's putting up some pretty amazing strikeout numbers.

I'll admit I still wasn't feeling great even after the Sox took a 3-2 lead just because they squandered a pretty big opportunity (bases loaded, one out). Especially after what happened Friday and the Devers home run, a one-run lead barely felt like a lead at all.

Still... they won and they're now 5.5 games ahead after going 4-1 vs the Rays and Yanks. Good way to start what should be a very tough stretch. At least we'll dodge Kluber.

Part of the reason that I still don't like the Pomeranz deal. Could have used Espinoza/Moncada to get Sale last year instead, and then hung on to Kopech.

Really goes back to not re-signing Rich Hill at the end of 2015 for a cheap 2 year/$10 million contract.
