well the graph speaks to how much harder pitches are being thrown now.

Agreed, but average fastball velocity can increase without a lot of guys throwing 101-102.

Anyway, we'll see, I guess. There were 52 guys in MiLB that were topping 100 three years ago and there even half that doing it in MLB this year.. I'd assume a similar level of attrition will apply to all the guys throwing 100 in this minors this year too.

Yea, I mean there's a lot of luck involved in that, but I really like the kid from what I've seen.

Me too, and I've got him in a keeper league, and he won't qualify for a MLB player in the league, so I'll get to keep him as a minor leaguer.

Even though last night was a little payback, Friday night's loss still stings. I can see one bullpen guy coming in being off, but two pen guys in a row just not having it is a good way to lose close games. Not sure what the sox do about it but Friday and that Sunday loss to the Royals a few weeks ago were brutal.

8 consecutive quality starts for the Red Sox. In that span, starters have a 2.06 ERA, 0.955 WHIP, 64 Ks, and 12 BBs.

Good chance the Red Sox and Indians meet again the ALDS. Also a good chance that Sale/Kluber finish 1/2 in the Cy Young voting. The last time the top 2 in Cy Young voting faced each other in the playoffs...

Sabathia vs Beckett, Indians vs Red Sox, 2007 ALCS.

Not bad.

Tribe doesn't have the quality start streak, but the starters over the last ten games combine for 1.75 ERA, 0.889 WHIP, 92 Ks, 17 BBs and averaged over 7 IP/GS.

That's a K rate of 11.5 per nine over that stretch. Nasty.

Part of the reason that I still don't like the Pomeranz deal. Could have used Espinoza/Moncada to get Sale last year instead, and then hung on to Kopech.

Really goes back to not re-signing Rich Hill at the end of 2015 for a cheap 2 year/$10 million contract.
hill is just another buch great at times but not on the field enough:suds:

I think he's got some pretty big potential, but we'll see. I've enjoyed watching him play defense, but I think his bat might be a little overrated. I'm not convinced he's going to be a CF star.

Then again, he's hitting lefties better than righties this year, so maybe he can improve.

Honestly, I think I always think less of Indians players than I probably should because I don't want to overvalue them in fantasy.

I'd still rather have Hill for two years and Kopech still in the system than Pomeranz for 2.5 years.

One of the ad banners I'm seeing this morning on tHoop is for luxury coolers. Like the Bentley's of Igloos.

I clicked on the banner and the coolers range in price from $495 to $795. They were offering free shipping, though, so if anyone wants to jump on that deal . . .

Is @soxfan1468927 around? Would like to talk about Liverpool
I'm around. Same shit, different campaign. I blew a gasket when Wijnaldum didn't clear that set piece. He was the worst player on the pitch. Everything Klopp tried, failed miserably.

Salah, Mane, and Firmino are going to be a lot of fun to watch this year, but they are going to have to outscore everyone.

Trying not to overreact to the first match (they lost to Burnley in the 2nd match last year), but that should have been 3 points.
