The thing is, he actually may be exactly that. We don't know. It's a little early to be saying he's an all-star who the brass is keeping down unfairly. I agree Pence needs to go but I'm not so sure Slater is a surefire stud.

As I have said before, I think Slater is a 4th OFer. But he has done nothing but perform at every level, including the Majors. Declaring he is a backup when he has always performed better than that is simply unfair. Let him fail his way to a backup job, or succeed his wa6 to a starting job. Don’t have him succeed his way to a backup job.
