Has a pitcher ever hit for the cycle?

This is 3rd time in SF history Giants have hit two slams in a game. First time since Sept. 19, 1998 (Mueller and Kent) vs. LA.

Other instance: April 26, 1970 (McCovey and Dietz) at Montreal.

Madison Bumgarner is slugging .550. Giancarlo Stanton is slugging .538.

He doesn't qualify, obviously, but just for fun: Bumgarner trails only Tulo, McCutchen and Goldschmidt in slugging in the National League.

Yes they do. Huddy has a couple, IIRC.

He has not. You are probably confusing him with Mike Hampton, who won 5 straight.

The Giants have 3. Caveman in '89 and '90 and Portugal in '94

No. A pitcher did it in the early 1900s, maybe 1800s, but he was playing in the field that day.



I saw this in a trivia question one time. I wish I could remember the name.

If I'm correct both those hits were homers by Wise.

Baggs corrected himself. Wise only had one grand slam that season. Only.


I wonder if a starting battery has ever each hit a grand slam?
