The colors and logo stay no matter what. If we do have to change the name which I hope we don't. My first choice would be Washington Skins. This would be great b/c a lot of people refer to the team as the Skins. 2nd choice would be Washington Indians. You can get angry at that. How many professional sports teams have "Indians" as a team name.

Sorry guys, but reality is that if they are forced to change the name, they will stripe the team of the logo's as well. Might be able to keep the colors, but thats about it. Skins with the logo wont fly and doesnt really make much sense. And Indians wont work due to the whole Cleaveland baseball franchise. Nor would braves. And Any lawyer worth his salt will get the logo based on the fact that it has been used to portray the image of Redskins all these years. So if they take the name, they take almost every thing associated with it as well.

Dean, think of it like this... Penthouse was originally refered to as a ****o magazine. They started refering to themselves as a gentlemans publication. Does that now make them NOT a ****o mag??

If they change the name to Indians (which Cleveland would raise a stink about I would expect) but kept the same logo, I simply dont think those fighting the name would be satisfied. The logo represents the name. Thus if they get striped of the name, they are going to take the logo as well. Not really any way around it.

What a load of krap. Skinsdad62 has this one down cold. The overwhelming majority of Native Americans have repeatedly stated this is a non-issue and the obscure tribe they found in New Hampshire who object are the clear minute minority. We have way bigger problems in this country than thinking this is an issue and this is the problem with these 50 Senators if they think this is remotely important. Get a freakin' life and do the job you were voted into to do and that is tackle the very big problems in this country.

The team was named in honor of the Indians, just like much of Maryland and Virginia.


If you are going to force the Redskins to change the name and the Indians are not coming to defend the name, I'd say stop honoring the Indians and change the logo.
