it is kinda funny that the Cavs offense all of a sudden looks like crap outside of LeBron and the defense is actually playing well...lol

but what i said yesterday before the game----- I am not worried about JR and Korver and Hill IF they are healthy. I was worried becuase Korver is banged up, Hill is banged up- and Jr can be inconsistent and those are the guys that have been through the battles.

I worry about Hood, Clarkson, Nance Jr., Green, because they really dont have that type of experience and they are inconsistent. Hood is a very talented player but he is just not aggressive at all. I have been saying it for weeks now that he needs to grow a pair and start playing like he is capable of.

Love at least was trying to be aggressive yesterday--- the shots were not falling as much as youd like but at least he was trying to be aggressive. He will be fine (as long as his thumb is fine which is just another fucking problem now ughhh).

These are the struggles you see when you turn half your team over though. As I said before this series started- the best thing that can happen to the Cavs in this series is if they are punched in the mouth once or twice and guys are able to settle in and and adjust to the speed of the playoffs.

I expect a win tomorrow night in Indy.

@WiggyRuss feels Love is a difference maker who is just bogged down because of his sacrificing for LeBron.

I feel Love gets wide open looks because of LeBron.
yah and i have a few amazing seasons like 26/13/4 to use as evidence of Love when not playing with LeBron. What do you have besides nothing?

As I said yesterday- Kevin Love is one of the best shooting/rebounding/passing big men in the long history of the NBA. He is still easily a top 30 player and without a doubt would be the best player on quite a few teams- including your Heat.

Players like Beasley have proven that impressive meaningless stats can be achieved.

Again, Love is good, but hes no big time difference maker.

yah maybe for a game or two Beasley can put up points- but he is a journeyman scrub for a reason.

Please never EVER EVER compare Beasley and Kevin Love again. Beasley is a journey man scrub. Kevin Love is an NBA Champion, a 5 time All Star, has made 2 ALL NBA 2nd teams. He is the ONLY player in NBA history to average 10 rebounds a game while making at least 700 3 pointers. His combination of rebounding and shooting is unparalleled for a big man and fits right into todays NBA- unlike some "traditional" centers i know that cant get off the bench.

To quote the great Jack Nicholson - "Sell crazy somewhere else, we are all stocked up here".

I think anyone that watched that game has to be on that same page. At least Korver, JR and Love are playing with some balls.

Everyone else just seems to be standing around watching.

Are you really surprised that the new cats are struggling? I'm not

Series going to be real interesting if they can't get much from Hood, Hill, Clarkson, and Nance.

I think "their best player had an amazing night and it was still a close game" takes are often overstated. At least, when it comes to the top players (LeBron, Curry, Durant, Harden).

A) Those guys are more than capable of reproducing nights like that throughout a series if its what the defense invites.

B) Its often more about taking what the defense gives then it is having a lucky outburst. LeBrons assist numbers, for example, this game were well below what he normally puts up.

So all is well with Cleveland? A blow out loss at home and a close win at home where Lebron scores 46 on 75% shooting is really NBD?

Last night was not exactly the bounce back performance I think most Cavs fans were expecting.

yah im definitely not surprised- esp. since im beginning to lose confidence in Lue as well.

THe lineup he used to start game 1 is a lineup that had NEVER played together. Honestly id almost rather have Drew coaching- he seemed to do better when Lue was out.

That being said- I think Nance, Clarkson and Hill will step up---- Hood is so frustrating- he is prob the 3rd most talented player on the team but he is just so passive. moving from Utah where there is very little media pressure to a Cleveland team with huge expectations, playing with LeBron and Love, etc...it just seems that he is fine deferring when they need a lot more from him.

I think Clarkson is going to step up- and i think Nance Jr. will as well. We shall see though. As I said, I expect a win Friday.

If James leaves, Love will be traded very quickly.

He’s not ‘that’ guy.
You can’t build around him.
No big time FA would be in any hurry to join him.

no doubt about it...

and if LeClown has to do that EVERY game i'm thinking there might be another bump in the road or 2 for the Cavs...

Yeah. The Cavs are most likely going to win this series but if the games are like last night they are going to take a toll on Lebron.

Agreed

However, I think its going to be a good thing in a way that the Cavs role players are facing some adversity in this series.

If they cruised through Indiana- and then the role players took a big dump against Toronto it would be far more worrisome.

Here they are facing some adversity and I think will step up these next couple games.

As I said- i had a bad feeling about last nights game- but LeBron's unbelievable effort carried the day. I think the role players will do better --- typically you always here they do worse on the road--- but with Hill having played in Indiana for a long time, and the less pressure of playing at home- i think that guys like Clarkson and Nance Jr. will step up tomorrow night.

Hood I have no clue on. He could be a huge help if he gets his head on straight but i am worried that he wont.

The problem with role players is that they are role players for a reason.

IMO, the biggest problem with the Cavs is that their starting 5 consists of All Universe Lebron a very good Kevin Love and then a bunch of very pedestrian players with glaring holes in their game.

Kyle Korver is not a playoff starter caliber player. He's a 3 point specialist with glaring weaknesses of defense. George Hill has been, IMO, a disappointment since coming to Cleveland. JR Smith seems like a shell of his former self. Jeff Green is a terribly playoff player.

So now the Cavs are hoping that one of Nance or Clarkson or Hood will step up and be a big time producer which they have never been. Hood could become that player someday, maybe, but he's still better suited as a 6th man at best.

If JR Smith can turn back the clock or Hill can discover his offense again, the Cavs will be fine. But if they continue to play the way they are right now, it will be very difficult for the Cavs to reach the finals and get blown out.
