I saw a study on his pitch effectiveness a short while back (not sure if it was here or DrB's) and it showed that he lethal with his first 30 pitches; OK on pitches 31-45; and dreadful on pitches 46+.

He is a spot-starter only. (At this point)

Further, between him and Vogey, Vogey does not have the makeup to come out of the pen. He has to start to have any effectiveness.

How many times will McGehee hit a homerun to negate GIDP's. This is not a great game by him but the GS made a difference in this particular game.... how often will that happen? Oh by the way Timmy should be the player of the game.

P.S. It' not unusual for teams to give a slumping player more credit than they deserve when the team is hoping to buoy a particular players' confidence... but it can backfire if the player know it is a hollow endorsement.
