Yeah, poor Coonrod might get a loss today, even though he hasn't pitched.
Baby steps.
And Chicago's d is letting Jake down. No runs given up, but lots of pitches...Jake lowers his era from 7.26-6.34. BooYaa.
Kazmir standing toe to toe with other Jake 0-0 in 5th
It's going to be strange. Shaw, who has 11 homers, just hit his first. What?!?
The makeup game was game #2 of the season. San Jose is a perfect 1-0 entering the game.
Baby steps.
No way we keep up this pace, but I have no complaints about the results.1/3 of the way through the schedule officially. On pace to win 99. Could not ask for anything more at season's start.
RE the hitters, pretty much agreed. Suggestion: take advantage of Belt and his fine OBP and bat him second at least till Panik picks it up.No way we keep up this pace, but I have no complaints about the results.
I am concerned with the offense, though. That was a given strength of the team coming in, and it has been just north of atrocious so far.
Posey - Good for a catcher, but bad for Posey. He needs to pick it up.
Panik - WTF? He is batting .250. I was not expecting this.
Duffy - BABIP is killing him. Maybe the shift is what it is, that explanation seems as good as any other.
Belt / Pence - Both doing fine, but neither doing well enough to carry a contending lineup.
The rotation has been amazing. Sure, there are two question marks, but we expected that coming in and both are improving. I am not sold on PV, but I trust we can find 1 option in the minors by the end of the season.
The bully has been rocky, but that too should solidify with time. Too many new faces to not have growing pains.
