Just a reminder...

The Giants got Posey and Crawford in the same draft. And that draft was one of the weaker drafts overall in the last 20-30 years

The 3rd best pick for the Giants that year was Conor Gillaspie (the one who debuted first in the big leagues too). That draft was very top heavy for the Giants but not much depth.

The two best players, career WAR-wise, are Posey and Crawford.

By the way outstanding bullpen work, McGee seems more suited to the 8th inning

Yup, and that's why I said Gillaspie was the 3rd best player from that draft. It was a big contrast between Crawford and Gillaspie to show how poorly that draft went, overall, and also how well they did to land two players such as Posey and Crawford. Basically, confirming your point that the draft wasn't that good yet they got those two.

Gillaspie was the Giants 3rd best in that draft, but he was way down the list league wide.

I was saying that in the ENTIRE draft, Posey was the best player taken and Craw was the second best player taken (career WAR-wise). There were some other decent players, but only 2 other 20 WAR+ (Kimbrel and Lance Lynn)

Got it. I thought you were talking one of the worst drafts just for the Giants.

To offer some context...

The 2007 draft has 6 players with 20+ career WAR in the first round alone (Donaldson, Price, Hayward, Bum, Frazier, Porcello)

The 2009 draft has 3 players from the first round with 20+ WAR (Trout, Strasburg and Pollock) and 3 in the 2nd (Arenado, LeMahieu and Kipnis).
