Agreed but having the refs partake in the loss sure doesn't help the cause. How the pens continue to get this I don't know.

It's unfortunate to lose in this way, but I feel like several of our players are about to go under the knife here. The third period push was very underwhelming, but mistakes by Gudas and the officials sucked the life out of what was a strong effort through two periods.

Don't worry, I think Gudas is done for. There won't be any room for him on the big squad next season with Myers, Sanheim and Morin on the way.

We scored more than enough goals to win this game and absolutely deserved a better fate, but when we make silly mistakes, that's a team that capitalizes on them quickly.

The Pens aren't winning another Cup with that defense and with injuries to key players.

I find solace in that truth.

Quite frankly, I think we took enough out of them to derail their hopes to "threepeat."

A better team is going to expose them in their own zone.

That and we're going to grow from this. Next season, we'll be much improved. Newer, better rookies on the way and tons of cap space to spend on free agents or to make trades.

Yep. The brighter seasons are still in front. At the end of the day, this season only boosted my optimism for the future. I felt good coming in to the year even though I was concerned about top end production for G and Jake. Their seasons, plus Couturier emerging as a very true #1C have my optimism through the roof. Nice to get a taste of the playoffs for the young guys, will only help going in to next season

Looks like picks #14 and #19. Time to start researching.

Pens shouldn't go anywhere as their D truly sucks but when you have the ref wildcard on your side it helps win the close ones. I don't understand why the league operates this way but Bettman has a lot to do with it. Bettman loves pumping his stars. Would love to see the Jets blow it up for him especially since he hates that city. At this point go Jets go!

They flag Voracek for diving and refuse to do the same on Crosby and Letang, who have done far worse on that front in this series, and with no repercussions.

Our penalty kill stepped up, but our power play was not good enough.

Either way, to face 25 of their power plays and only get 21 of our own when we were the more disciplined team all season long is a bit alarming.

It's mostly a matter of stars on their team routinely getting the benefit of the doubt and stars on our team getting tripped, slashed and crosschecked while just having to deal with it.
