Lots of potential too. I think Provorov, Patrick and Konecny at least could show us another level. The others are definitely more of a question mark, Hagg and Leier included.

I wish we had Wayne Simmonds at 100% and in top form for this one. I get the feeling he is playing hurt and also not at the top of his game. Maybe he can turn that around against a bitter rival that he's had a lot of success against (13 career goals). If he's not able to score the dirty goals, bang bodies and bring that toughness, we will have trouble replacing it.

It almost makes you wish we had Hartnell in his prime again...Lol

I also think Provorov will show signs of greatness in this series. I think the first 5 minutes of the game will show us where this team is at as far as playoff readiness. If we come out flat early, it will be a long night in Pittsburgh. We just have to limit ourselves to the stupid penalties. I hope the refs let these guys play and not be whistle happy.

Yes, this shit is going to feel rigged if the refs don't just let them play. This is playoff hockey and weak calls should not be made anywhere. If they are, we're probably in trouble.

We have the luxury as fans of being able to bitch endlessly about calls, but our players need to focus on just getting the kill and moving on, or even just giving up a goal and moving on.

That and if we show the discipline that we've shown throughout the season, we can perhaps negate some of their special teams advantage by getting more power plays.

They were shorthanded 42 more times than us this season.
