Hpw are his numbers for shootouts? That is important heading to the finish line. For some reason the Flyers love to give up late goals and losing in the shootout.

Detroit guaranteed no less than a 4th round pick. If Philly makes playoffs and Mrazek wins 5 games for Philliy in reg season, 4th becomes a 3rd. If Philly advances to Conference Finals and Mrazek wins 6 playoff games the 3rd becomes a 2nd rounder. If Philly re-signs him next season Det gets a 3rd in '19

I hate to use Eklund as a reference, but this is all up to date. We gave up a 4th this season and a conditional 3rd for 2019.

The original request from Detroit was a 3rd rounder,so they end up with an extra pick-ok with it

Really like those conditions. Basically a 4th if we’re disappoint d in the season, a 3rd if we’re content or a 2nd if we’re super happy. Extra 3rd in 2019 if mrazek is a potential long term answer in net.

I say there’s like a 10% chance they re-sign him unless he carries the team to playoff success.

I like the deal.

Mrazek in 10 career postseason starts:

1.88 gaa
.931 sv%
3 shutouts

He was basically the starter in Detroit for 2-3 seasons while Howard was either struggling or injured. They have almost identical numbers this season, both at .910, but the Wings are going to miss the playoffs again.

Another Czech player, probably knows Neuvy, Gudas and Voracek. I am sure he will be welcomed with open arms.

Looks like the Wings absorbed half of his $4 million cap hit and he will be a RFA this summer.

IMO he slots in as their #2 now. I think he's better and more reliable than Neuvy. I would still give the starter's nod to Elliot at this point, but Mrazek could steal that mantle if he has a good few weeks here.

I'm thinking its Simmonds. They play a similar power forward game. If Weise was hurt, they would most likely just sub Leier in.

I agree, unless he has some real stellar performance I don't think Elliott loses his starting job, this team plays way better behind him, I've seen Mrazek play twice live and he won both games. He def can be solid behind a good team. Better than Nuevy IMO.

Simmonds out 2-3 weeks

Flyers announce Michal Neuvirth out 4-6 weeks with a lower body injury, which is why they got Petr Mrazek last night. In addition, and not to be overlooked at all, Wayne Simmonds is out 2-3 weeks with an upper body injury.

Weal move to 2nd line and Lindblom to 3rd.
