PK's gotta be fixed. Can't keep allowing 2+ PP goals a game and expect to win games.

Why hasn't Matt Read been recalled to address that? He's a proven commodity on the PK. Couturier is a good PK'er. Giroux is a good PK'er. You've got 3 out of 4 at that point. MacDonald, Hagg, Gudas, and Provorov should be fine defensively.

Call up Read. Fire Lappy.

In my opinion, we wasted a strong team effort last night via just a few critical mistakes, mostly on the penalty kill, but also in crunch time. Two points blown and even worse, giving a bitter rival those points.

I think we'll get revenge here in a week and a half to take the season series, but this is obviously frustrating for now.

Sounds good to me. We probably should've led at least 2-1 or 2-0 through one period. Then, it's a different game moving forward.

This is an excellent idea dont have any clue as to why he has fallen in love with Lehtera. It just keeps him on the ice longer and other teams are taking advantage of his serious weakness in skating ability and lack mobility.

We need to brush this game off and win Saturday. We dont have enough time to go into 4 game losing streaks at this point.

I'd prefer Lehtera playing than Weiss, but playing him on the PK is mind blowing. Playing either of them when you have Matt Read in the minors is baffling honestly.

Love Lappy but yea, good players don't always translate to good coaching.

Zajac is a huge dick. i wish Gudas would've crushed him into the boards later on in that game.

How about Lehtera on the 2 PP unit as well as the PK that is down right irresponsible.

I don't blame Lyon for this loss, but he looked shaky on the game winning goal and also appeared to admit fault. We needed to be better in front of him on the penalty kill and in the clutch moments though. Severson scoring from that location to tie it is unacceptable. I think we fell asleep watching the long scrum in the corner just previous.

Lyon is like our 4th string goalie though and not even a guy we expect to start anytime soon, so we need to help him out more.

I guess I feel bad for Lyon because the team let him down. Now he's going to return to the minors and possibly never see another Nhl game in his career. You just never know. First impressions are everything and a much younger, better goalie in Carter Hart is coming fast. That and he's very likely still behind Stolarz on the depth chart once everyone is 100% healthy. That's why I labeled him technically our 4th string goalie.

17-18: 73.9% (29th)
16-17: 79.8% (18th)
15-16: 80.5% (19th)
14-15: 77.1% (26th)
13-14: 84.8% (6th?) --> Lappy's first season in charge of the PK.

All that span summed up, 22nd in the NHL. That's pretty bad.

It's terrible. I hate to make a pretty significant, mid-season change like that, but it might be necessary. It's a tough call to make, really. If the season were over now, it would be an easy call though.

Wow this is really bad and to think we kept VV and Frenchie around for so long because they were good Pk's.

Should not lose to the Sens at this point. That’s a wasted point.

Have to be encouraged about the future though. The pieces are really starting to fall in to place. G, Coots, and Jake looking great all season. Konecny and Patrick really starting to come on. Ghost and Prov look like a legitimate strength as the top pair. Things are really starting to look promising. This is the team I expected/hoped to see at the start of the year. Just took a little while to get there.
