I want to call attention to the play Whitner made on the second to last play of the game. He came from about 10 yards away to blow Cobb up and keep him in bounds. That might have been a game saver.

Pack might have gotten two extra plays off without that hit. Huge.

Great to see boldin play so great. I was worried when we got him that he might be over the hill.

A+ to the rookie safety, looks like an impact player already.

He also had another smart play when he made sure to carry Finely out of bounds to negate what would've been a catch at the goal line.

Yeah, he made a couple really smart hustle-plays today.

Yeah, horrible run blockers. How did they grade out last year in run blocking?
Excellent job of pass protection as usual today but no holes opened up for the runners either. Gore had a guy hanging on him right at the line of scrimmage on almost every run. I've always thought they were over-rated as run blockers.

That's right. I forgot about that.

That's largely because GB decided to sell out to stop the run and allow Kap to throw all over them.

Must have been based off all the intel they got from Tolzien.

AND I'M VERY WORRIED ABOUT THAT!! If Seattle is able to shutdown our running game in similar fashion, ain't no way on earth our WRs will match up well with their DBs. We need to do a better job in controlling the line of scrimmage. If we think we can escape another week by not winning the battle of the trenches, we will be in for a rude awakening.

Hawks looked shaky against the run today. I think we can move the ball on them.

everyone so worried about our WR's, but if Kaep is accurate enough and has protection..............

not to say I never want better WR talent, but we're "ok" for time being. who said Kaep and Davis aren't in sync?

Eh... Kaepernick: 412 passing yards. WRs not named Boldin: 36 yards. That second WR spot is still a major concern IMO. We need someone to step up a bit better than they did today.

I feel like Williams did well for his FIRST game back from an ACL surgery. Not much else you could ask from him.

This game was a poor indicator to tell if it's still a major concern or not.

I mean if your #1 and #2 guys are open than you're going to look at those guys first and it just happened they were open a lot in this game. There were only a couple of catches that Kap had to throw it in some tight spots but overall it was pitch and catch the entire game with Boldin and if the defense gives you that you're going to take it.

Well, I could ask him to come down with that deep ball. But I agree that he did pretty well for his first live action since the injury. But I'd be happier if he were the #3 or #4 receiver.

That Boldin guy is pretty good when he has a real QB throwing him the ball. =)

"If the refs would have made the right call earlier in the game that last play is a field goal to tie the game as Crosby was making them from 65 to 68 yards in practice and has made 15 out of his last 16 kicks

Obviously you mean the refs should have thrown Mathews out of the game for the cheap shot neckcollar tackle out of bounds on a QB and then throwing punches at Staley. So yes the refs should have made the right call not flagging Staley and tossing Mathews. Couple that with all the non holding calls against Aldon and yet again GB seems to be the stripped mans favorite.

Kap did under throw Williams I guess he could have jumped into and drawn PI but I put that play on an under throw and good hustle and defense play by the CB
