I guess it’s PIT or CLE or back to SF bc nobody wants to give up the assets + pay him his demands
How does Cle have almost 30MM in cap space?

You're currently negative 51 mill the next year though. Signing Aiyuk won't help that at all, but I dunno if you're window is so bright beyond this coming season either.

I think if they ship Cooper that frees up some cap.

A little bit this year, and a lot next year.

1.2MM savings this year, with $7.5MM dead, and a 15MM savings next year. Then 15MM dead split over the last 3 years.

The 51M is a myth. They can restructure the Watson contract until they are blue in the face. That is why cash cows are king

Interesting. I would imagine the 49ers were asking way too much. I said earlier that a 1st (2025) and a 2nd (2026) would prob. be fair, but I can understand New England for saying no to that.

Well it's Cleveland.. I mean that alone gets a 30% discount... and then their only good player in Garrett had to take a discount because he tried to cave in another player's head.

This.

They will push his cap one way or the other. The only question is do they eat shit and let Watson go or make it part of his extension. It all depends on how he plays.

If he sucks. They have to go rookie/ budget for a few years and eat his deal along with it.

From what I understand is that the trade package was there and the money Aiyuk wanted was offered but Aiyuk didn't want to go there which killed the deal.

Aiyuk does have some leverage in all of this since all he has to say is he isn't going to sign an extension with the team he's traded to and it kills the deal.

This all might end up with him playing on his 5th year option with the 9ers in the end.

The trade offers I have heard on SF radio is the Pats we’re sending Bourne and their ‘25 2nd and the Browns were sending Cooper and their ‘25 2nd. I haven’t heard “hard” rumors about a potential Pit package, though.

If Aiyuk is turning down huge money from the Pats, than that just means he is cabeza loco or he totally plans on signing with the Niners, but he will play it out for as long as he can to get every last dollar.

If I was SF I'd franchise him next year them let him walk just to fuck with him if he's going to do all this shit.

For Aiyuk I think he either wants the Steelers or the 9ers to pay him.

I think for the 9ers people are misinterpreting open to trading as needing to trade him.

I'd guess the ultimate hope for the 9ers is Aiyuk explores his options but decides he'd rather be a 9ers and they sweeten the deal a bit and lock him up. If that doesn't happen they get some pieces in a trade they can use now and a pick they can use later to help get a roster getting a little older younger for a player they aren't going to be able to retain long-term. Or they get Aiyuk to get invested in 2024 by basically telling him they tried to trade him, he could've been traded and gotten north of 30+ million a year, and you said no so that's on you now grab your pads and lets get to work.

Hard to say what will happen as I can see a Steelers trade but it seems both the Steelers and 9ers don't really want to budge much from their positions. The fact the Steelers came back to the table does suggest they are a little more open to budging though since I think they realized the 9ers have 0 issues not trading Aiyuk so they better put together an agreeable package.

he should, but he is outgrown his britches now.

Well then you fuck him over and franchise him next year when he jacks up all your trade deals.

We don't even know this dude a number 1. He's had the privilege of playing along side Deebo.
