Is this really answering the question of how many games today have been decided by 140 pts prior to the 3?

Not tryin to be a wise azz in any respect. Clearly you know you’re shitt , ya got my respect if it means anything
Not specifically, that is much harder to look up. But, if there were significantly more it would show up in the scoring averages unless you think there are an equal number of games with teams scoring 80 (30 below the ~110 average).

But that is bad offense.

You space the floor so that you are able to take advantage of driving lanes.

Post play isn’t the best way to get that done.

But yeah, if you space and never attack, then it is not good offense.
And that's what the Cs offense was last night and it looked terrible

I didn’t watch and I am sure it was bad.

Still does not mean the 3 has ruined the game.

It has made the game better.

But for sure some teams over do it at times and it for sure can cause teams to lose when not utilized appropriately.

List of highest-scoring NBA games - Wikipedia

Here is a wiki on the highest scoring nba games. Almost all of them (if not all) were prior to the dominance of the 3.

The 3 point line has been around in the NBA and NCAA since I started watching and I'm absolutely no spring chicken.

Back before that time, we're talking about eras ago...

The 3 line seems to be the problem but what if, what if you miss the 3 and lose a point?, would that then make teams consider taking less 3's? Leave the line just penalize the shooting team for missing it. Should help the defense out a little bit, ya know even things up some
This is another good idea. Then some 3 pt jacking idiots would end games in the negative and be laughed at for eternity like they should.

Move the hoop up to 12 ft

Children play on 10 feet. Children. These NBA players can't shoot at a higher rim than children do?? Pathetic.

Terrible idea

Of course they could shoot on 12 foot hoops.

This would actually lead to more 3s, not less.

Because finishing at the rim would be considerably harder. Shooting from distance wouldn’t be affected that much once players had time to dial it in.

And children play on 10 foot hoops because that is the standard for the game.

If basketball were designed for children the hoops would be a lot lower.

If the 3 pointer wasn't added yet you wouldn't have the imagination to add it.

LOL.

Ok. Whatever that means.

I actually get praised for my creativity and imagination all the time in my profession.

I’m going to assume you didn’t play little league baseball

I did.

And your point?

I have seen plenty of kids basketball leagues that play on lower rims.

Suggesting that 10 foot rims are designed for children is insane.

It’s not my favorite idea

I’m all for making basketball great again by bringing back what made it great

Great center play

Elite big men are the peak of the league

Wilt
russell
Shaq
Admral
Hakeem

Etc

That is your opinion.

That is not shared by most people.

Current rules allow skilled big men to dominate. The last 4 MVPs have been centers and the 2 before that were 6’11” Giannis.

The current rules also allow normal sized people to take over games if they are good enough.

That wasn’t the case back in the day. Best center wins.

Modern basketball is far superior IMO. And it isn’t close.

You act like centers can’t impact games anymore when the best player in the league is a center.

They keep changing the rules to try and stop them

Then why are Jokic numbers better than ever?

Modern rules favor great players at any position.

Part of the issue is that it doesn't "look right".

The change in how the game is played now is still new enough that most folks can still remember the big man on the low post and the game being played "inside out". Many of those folks are more comfortable with the "inside out" game.

I like that game is more open now, but I'm also never going to get used to seeing 7 footers shooting 3's, even if they are good at hitting them. Also, the emphasis on the 3 can make the game even more unwatchable than anything that happened in the 90's when the shot isn't falling and they keep shooting it. At least in 90's you had guys knocking the hell out of each and might even get a fight...while that's not great basketball...I'd rather watch that than guys missing 3's.

While I agree that the game is better and "more skilled" now, I disagree with the "far superior, and it isn't close" narrative. For YOU that may be the case, but clearly, not everyone feels the same.

To be fair, nothing about Jokic makes sense. No way a guy built like, who's that unathletic, should be doing what he does. lol
