The only thing is... You actually have to drive to the lane and most of the time they don't. They just shoot the 3

Haven't seen Wemby enough. But AD drives the lane a lot. He was actually a point guard when he was growing up, but had a growth spurt. When he was 14, he was 5'11" grew to 6'2" by 15, 6'7" by 17 and 6'10" by 19.

For his career, he only shoots about 2 per game.

Yeah I will admit I do not watch a lot of NBA unless it's playoffs as college basketball is where I like to be and see
It’s a dam shame cause you don’t see enough of the true athleticism these kids possess today

Ever think you would see a set shot not get smacked into the nose bleed seats in an NBA game…

Felix Unger could play in this game today with his under leg kick shot

Fuck Boston...they're the reason we can't have nice things.

Ignoring the historical fact they’re the reason we have…any things

…and aren’t tea and crumpet eating pansies…

The 3 line seems to be the problem but what if, what if you miss the 3 and lose a point?, would that then make teams consider taking less 3's? Leave the line just penalize the shooting team for missing it. Should help the defense out a little bit, ya know even things up some

They couldn't buy a bucket last night from anywhere. When they actually drove the lane they actually scored but for some reason they refused to keep doing it

actually, they missed layups … they’re shooting more in the paint … raptors were 70+% in one or two quarters… Celtics defense is what’s to look at

They did miss a lot of those as well but imo it's because they tried to be too cute instead of just laying it in.

Yes Raptors shot lights out and the Celtics D was non existent and the Raptors took full advantage of it!

I don't see 3 pointers as a (or the) problem.

There have always been trends in basketball. For instance, the 90's were characterized by physical play. Some think of that as the "glory days"... the way it should be. Others complained about the lower scoring slogs that tended to crop up back then.

Whatever style is being played... there are gonna be benefits and drawbacks of that style.

A 3 pt dominant team or style can absolutely be a beautiful brand of basketball (IMO). It can also turn into a brick fest on many nights.

really … ‘live by the three, die by the three’ … I don’t see blaming 3-pointers as a problem … we all know how much excitement it adds to the end of close games … if shooting 3s don’t open up a defense then they should practice shooting 3s … and if the opponent is shooting 3s then move your ass on D … celts aren’t doing that lately

Comebacks from leads of 30+ pts are happening quite often

You could view that as being exciting…

But, it’s only because the hot team cools off, and the lack of D that’s displayed all game, has become more and more prevalent

Thats exactly what the Raptors did YET the Celtics didn't take advantage of it and still shot the 3.

I do agree pulling defenders away from paint is a MUST but if the team refuses to go inside it's pointless

But that is bad offense.

You space the floor so that you are able to take advantage of driving lanes.

Post play isn’t the best way to get that done.

But yeah, if you space and never attack, then it is not good offense.

If they didn’t keep artificially inflating the lane it would be

scoring average for this year so far is 112.8ppg. In your glorified mid-80's it was about 110ppg. That is not that big a difference. Lowest was 93.4, not surprisingly the year the Pistons won it in 2004 and most people hated that saying too much defense, we need more scoring.

Is this really answering the question of how many games today have been decided by 140 pts prior to the 3?

Not tryin to be a wise azz in any respect. Clearly you know you’re shitt , ya got my respect if it means anything
