I am really impressed with the skating ability of Ratcliffe. I had no idea he had speed to go along with his strength in his strides. We need more of this when drafting please.

Two huge reason for last nights loss.

The PP was embarrassing to the nth degree.

Team defense was so bad as they just skated out of their zone and through the neutral zone at top speed with zero resistance.

The ONLY saving grace for Risto and the trade deadline is revisiting the David Savard trade to the Lightning last year for a 1st and a 3rd. He had 1 year left on his contract and was 1 g, 5 a for 6 points and -19 in 40 games. In 42 games, Risto is 2-9-11 -12. Would someone give up a 1st for a hitting RD? Please, please, please.......................................

Id like to get Slafkowsky. I saw him play a period and a half in the Olympics and he was just better than everyone out there and bigger too.

Were on the way down and they are on the way up with 10 more points than us id say that qualifies as being surpassed.
They also lead in points by Rookies. I think I was watching the Detroit feed last night. I was on espn+ on my phone, didn’t have sound on. They flashed the rookie points stat.

As of 1/31, they had him going to the Flyers on this site. Haven't seen him at all, but like what they've written about him. Key is, sounds like he can skate too with that size. Also sounds like he's pretty tenacious.

I'd be on board with it.

Well the real upside is, he can't be worse than anything we have right now.

It was ! If they beat Michigan at Michigan on Thursday, I’ll be a believer again !!!!
Dropped a giant turd last night which I pretty much thought they would do.... Hopefully they don't do the same in the NCAA tournament.

Trade away absolutely every pending UFA by the deadline if at all possible. That includes G, Brassard, Risto, Braun, Yandle and Jones. Hopefully G wins a Stanley Cup and brings that experience back to Philly with him for a short term deal at a reduced rate that has him eventually retire as a Flyer.

To me, this was a lost season once Ellis and Couturier were both on the shelf long term. That's arguably our best overall player and best defenseman. They cannot be replaced, plain and simple.

If the right moves are made by the deadline, at the draft and in the offseason, I still believe that if our best players stay healthy, we could have a very competitive team next season. If not, then just start rebuilding it right now.

With Coots, Hayes and Ellis done for the year, do you think we can “catch” HABS for most lottery balls ?
