Some dork on YouTube is rumoring Watt to Seattle for our 1st and 92nd overall (and he needs a new contract at 30 years old). I'm not putting any stock in that but IF we did that trade, I might just officially be done with Schneider...

We have the lowest cap hit on the O of all teams this year. And have invested money (DJAX/Reed/Love/Nwosu), a 2nd+money (Williams), a top 20 (Murphy) a top 5 (Witherspoon), two 2nd rounders (Hall/Mafe)... and then 4th rounders in Jones/Knight - not to mention money before both came in, and are eating MORE dead cap because of Jones. Enough is enough, if you can't make that D work with a defensive minded coach (the best one available in recent memory) + the draft capital we have this year, get f'd.

Take the 2nd and 1st and move up to take Membou if he's there at 10 or just secure Booker. Something that will literally help the team win games. We lost prob. 2 games alone last year because we couldn't move the ball one fuckin' yard (Rams being one where we were denied TWICE).

I have not seen the numbers, but yesterday on 710 they described Lock's contract as a 2 year deal. I'm assuming it's for more than $1m/yr, so I have to think Howell is in jeopardy of losing a roster spot. You're not keeping both of those guys.

Lock is 2 years $5M... and with Howell only costing $1.1M this year, it's hardly worth the rollover to let him go.

They may keep just Lock or Howell, but Lock gives Howell some competition. A little under 50% of teams kept 3 QBs on the roster last year, so it's possible they keep all 3 given how low the cap hit is... but Seattle has a lot of draft picks (unless we trade up). There's only so much room.

Seems weird to cut Howell if he's only $1.1M this year. Might as well just keep him around, unless we just flat out run out of roster space. He's still only 24.

I think if its between Sam Howell and 3rd year player Jaren Hall they keep Hall.

Hall from the very limited tape i have seen is a fun QB, thats athletic, yes he is older than Sam though. If you are down to your 3rd option at QB in the season you are not going anywhere so at least make it fun to watch. Sam Howell made me want to puke.

Great news! Now we have a bit more time to work on a long term deal to keep him with us for several more years..,....

You have to think that the current cap space we have is being held to sign Cross along with guys like Mafe, Lucas and Woolen.

Cross just got his 5th year option exercised (first one Seattle has done that with. Ever.), so it would seem more likely they extend him after this season and before his final year of rookie deal. I would be disappointed if they spend more money and cap space on Woolen.

Unless Woolen blew their socks off this year, I can't see them extending Woolen... Same with Abe if he continues w/ his injury woes... Mafe is a must...

I get that Woolen can be frustrating because of his complete lack of run support ability. But he is still a high quality cover corner. Given they made no move for another corner in this draft, I think they are at least thinking about resigning him.

It all depends on the cost. Letting Abe and Woolen walk creates 2 pretty big holes on the roster. You really want to avoid having to keep replacing starters every offseason.

Yeah, I think at least for now, Woolen's seat is maybe not quite as warm as it was pre-draft. They didn't select anyone that would pose an immediate threat, but there still may be a chance they'll sign Shaq Griffin. But if they don't do that on top of not drafting another CB, then yeah that is probably at least a decent indicator they like him more than me.

Think the draft points to Fant and Walker being allowed to walk or at least test their market value next off season. Hope Abe can stay healthy because that would be a boon for the OL and help with continuity for a unit that needs it.

Yeah. I think both Fant and Walker are goners after next season, if not before the season. They already have replacements lined up and the backups for those replacements are already lined up.

Can't imagine we keep K9 and I think the rumors of his trade are STILL true (although his value isn't great right now).

Charbs and McIntosh were playing good towards the end of last year, and now you've got Martinez, who somehow dropped to the 7th round (I was shocked to hear his name) - who is a very physical runner which matches up with what we want to do apparently.

And Fant, I mean Arroyo is basically an athletic freak that I think is meant to flat out replace Fant and hopefully be better. I agree we don't let Fant walk right now because Arroyo doesn't quite know how to block great, had the knee item, and only 1 year of really productive football. I can definitely see him in packages, but I think Fant will still be the starter.

We could roll over $9M of cap, but I think we'll still have plenty to afford people next year. I would imagine we keep a lot of our draft picks though, because next year we have like the lowest active contracts lol.

I think we are treating this RBs like shark teeth. Lose one and another comes right behind it. We keep the pipeline going with mid or late round picks like McIntosh & Martinez, maybe an occasional earlier pick like Walker & Charbs. Walker is gone next year, Charbs moves into the top RB role (if it doesn't happen this year), the other guys move up 1 spot on the depth chart, and the cycle continues.

I like the idea of getting Walker in his contract year, so at this point I would be surprised if he's traded.
