he's going to be a problem for the rest of the east

If he gets healthy...

That's why he slid so hard. He has a torn shoulder labrum that just underwent surgery. He needs his OTHER shoulder fixed on... and has some knee issues.

Now Eagles fans will screech at me saying, "OMG JEALOUS OMFOMFFFFF Eagles are the best aomfomffo0mff - HE WWAS FURRRNNING ON A TREMAMDILL" cause that's what they do, BUT Campbell was a steal that late. IF he can get healthy and the surgeries work out, he's a beast of a player. It does require kind of figuring out where he can play, but the Eagles have a dominant DL so fitting in someone like Campbell is easy to do.

I think Roseman (doubt Eagles fans even know he said this) pretty much said it all when he literally and I quote said: "We look at the draft as a long-term opportunity for our team. We have a lot of confidence this guy's going to be here and play at a really high level for a long time."

Roseman knows that Campbell is part of a plan to stay relevant in future years... because frankly I don't see Campbell even starting this year or being VERY limited. He just came off surgery, and needs surgery on the other shoulder. And of COURSE the Eagles' med staff evaluated this... and do the Eagles need him RIGHT NOW? No. Do a lot of teams drafting in the teens and early 20s need a player RIGHT NOW? YES. That's why he fell.

As an NFL fan, I'm kinda glad Hunter ended up in Jacksonville. Their top need was CB and WR was probably top 4. They in theory have a franchise QB and a WR1. It's the perfect spot for him.

On the flip side, the Browns getting a massive haul is probably the most noteworthy thing in the draft. The Browns really aren't that far off if they get out from under Watson.

Browns fleeced the Jaguars. I think the movie Draft Day actually came true?

Whatever, I was in disbelief when I saw that. Trading up #2 to get a DB lol... or a WR? Whatever... Hunter is nowhere near the prospect of someone like Calvin Johnson, and a #2 for a DB?

And this whole "Oh he can do both." No... he can't... 70 snaps (typical for a DB) is already too much. So this notion he's going to play 120 snaps a game... give me a fuckin' break. Deion Sanders did it one season, wasn't good at either... (due to exhaustion likely) and by the time the receivers got healthy and the Boys were approaching the playoffs, Dallas stopped that bullshit and never did it again.

The last person to do DUAL roles was in the 60s. Can't remember the name off the top of my head but he played DL and Center. And that was in a 12 game season.

The Browns won, but only if they make the picks pay off. I'm not confident.

The Jags also active to move up or trade back. Very active according to a few different "NFL sources."

@dtgold88 LOL
not sure why you are laughing. Never said these reports are never right. But pretty much every team is "open to moving up or back" for right offer.

I mean, if you really believe the majority of reports, the Browns hold at 2 and take Hunter, LOL Boy. Remember when I said Wednesday because of all the people who seem so sure we take Hunter at 2 that will not happen?

Really, that's the last straw?

I think trading down theoretically might make sense for Cleveland, TBH, if they can really fleece a team for multiple firsts.

This is not a strong draft so trading down and getting future picks might be wise for a franchise with many needs and some structural cap issues to sweat out in the short term.
I hope he has straws left since at least as of now their trade was fantastic. Got a team to give up a high 2 AND future 1 (and other picks) to move up 3 spots for non QB?

I mean, taking a DT not exciting but if he's a stud.........?

Day 2 will be telling.

If you guys come right out of the gates and take Sanders... oof. I think Sanders is a 3rd rounder. There's other talent there that should be a legit 2nd round prospect. I know it's QB... but next year is stronger and even with Sanders the Browns are prob. not going to be a big competitor this year. Save up and take your QB in 2026 when you can reset things finally by ridding yourselves of that terrible Watson contract.

Taking a DT is not exciting? It's not? One of the things if that it's good basically brings together your whole defense?

I guess for the Fantasy Football fags out there, a DT is not exciting. For true football fans (who can also play FF), it's very exciting...

An early word to fans who freak out about picks tonight: None of us have a clue how these guys will pan out.

The Eagles five years ago took a QB in the late second, even though they had a starter. Fans freaked out. I personally thought it was a terrible selection.

* In fairness to the fat lugnut Eagles fan here, he was already riled up at Howie for selecting Jalen Reagor over Justin Jefferson, and he was dead right there.

How's it turning out?

Some fans have it in their mind they will complain no matter what their team does...and I guess I get it with some teams. But should at least wait and see how it pans out.

Do love our deal......but if Hunter is a stud and Graham flops? Hell, even then need to see what happens at 36 and the future #1.

Think latter might be plan but even if Sanders need to see him on field before knowing if it worked.

Even if Graham flops and Hunter is a stud... I'll still mark it down as one of the dumbest trades ever. Hunter is a DB who may play SOME snaps at WR. Anyone saying he'll do both 100% in the NFL is dismissive and a flat out retard, including Hunter himself. "I'm just built different" (Hunter). Hey guess what retard? So is every other player in the NFL...

Whatever. Trading up and giving up that much for a WR that doesn't come CLOSE to comparing to someone like Calvin Johnson (or basically any of the other WRs last year in the top 10) or a DB in general, is RIDICULOUS.

I always thought the movie Draft Day was absolutely stupid and unrealistic. Well... yesterday humbled me.

All fair points but think you know what I meant (not exciting to type you mention). also said if the guy is a stud it's a great pick. I mean taking an OT early tonight not exciting but I wont mind if we do it.

I mean I was quite happy when we took Zabel yesterday. I remember jumping out of my chair when we took Cross (who was snubbed of a pro bowl last year - easily a top 10 OT in the league)...

Again, ESPN and a bunch of FF dorks only want to talk about a WR, or sack guy, or QB, or TE, or RB!!! OMG look at the fantasy points and look how cool they are against a bunch of shit college teams! BUY JERSEYS!! BUY BUY BUY!!! (nobody is buying a jersey of an OL - although my Mom bought a Walter Jones jersey.. God fuckin' bless her). And everyone forgets about the trenches. Going off on a bit of a tangent here but it drives me nuts.

I think the guy will be a full time WR and play 30 or so snaps at DB (well, did if we got him...might be different depending what Jags need more). Don't think many reasonable fans or media have said he will play 100% both ways. If we took him I was fine with it.

But agree that was a lot to give up and glad we made the deal.

I think that for the most part we don’t really care what you think. With all due respect, you’re a nobody. You haven’t seen a single real medical report on this player. He’s a football prospect. He will either develop and be good or he won’t. It will have nothing to do with what any of us have to say.

I think can annoy me is the term reach which is so overused. Reach based on what? Where fake drafters thought the real drafters would take a player....maybe the fake drafted just got it wrong?
