We went into last season with a couple holes. CB was a major need. They addressed the hell out of it with a big FA signing AND our first 2 draft picks. And it was still a weakness. DE was a major need. They added Davenport and hoped for the best. It ended the year as a huge need. WR #3 was a huge need. It remained a need all year, although it was somewhat lessened by Patrick. Ended the year being a weak point for us and its a make it or break it year for Jamo, not sure we even want him back either despite his game breaking ability. DT was a need, they signed Reader, and it ended up being ok. He's gone and McNeil might take a while to come back. So this year it's moving way up the need list. OG was addressed last off-season, and it worked out mostly. But both OG spots are up for grabs again.

If we don't get a couple more scores in FA, I see some growing pains this year with 2 new coordinators and so many complete holes on the roster.
Second half of the year Arnold was awesome. He penalties almost vanished and he still was playing wr close. Unfortunately Arnold put it together around the time Davis broke his jaw. Robinson was pretty solid feeling in. Arnold year 2, Reed, Robinson, and Rakestraw as the 4th should be solid group for DE. Lions need a 3rd safety for sure.

Only real need is dline, but they need starters and depth everywhere on it.

My view on needs is:

1. Defensive Line
2. More Defensive Line
3. Oline Depth
4. X WR
5. Even more dline

Roy Lopez is a solid rotation NT. I like that signing.

I know i mentioned we needed a special teams LB, so thank sweet baby Jesus we signed 23 of them. Crisis averted.

I am guessing Adams was for next to nothing. He had potential at 1 point but has disappointed greatly. PS material at best these days but one can dream I guess.

Losing Zeitler and GG hitting the wall last year so we need more than just depth. I know Mahagony will take 1 of those spots but we still need another starter plus 1 more depth guy. Resigned Skipper so we are in decent shape at tackle.

I wouldnt mind getting Becton in FA. I wanted to draft him.

Tim Patrick has resigned. No word yet on if he can play special teams linebacker

Offense is pretty solid still. 1 or 2 signings away from being set there. Jammo's WR spot ( probably him) and the 1 guard spot.

We re=signed Shane Zylstra. He can definitely play ST LB.

Pat O'Connor is back in case you were looking for someone to carry the equipment.

Add Rock Ya-Sin to the list. I know some folks here wanted to draft him 5 years or so ago.

He will replace Vildor at least. We needed some depth.

And now Avonte Maddox as well. Our CB situation just got a whole lot better. Secondary was very depleted up until the last few days.

Maddox like Amik can play both inside and outside.

We will still need at least 1 safety. Maybe 2.

We are to the point of FA where older vets get signed as a 1 year stop gap. Here is to hoping that they can get Sherff and Judon, which puts the Lions without any real needs going into the year, and can draft purely BPA. Probably not going to happen, fun to dream though.

We would still need a safety, although not a starter.

Definitely need a guard. I dont want to see GG in there on a regular basis any more.
