With Juszczyk being released and no full back on the roster would Payton want to sign him? Seems like he could be a joker light role with Payton and a nice fit. Not sure what he will command numbers wise though.

Nope.

We have Adkins in an hback role. So we actually do have a FB on the roster. Burton was re-signed last year right after the draft. Hard to tell if we will bring him back but I see us saving a roster space and giving Adkins the FB role since we use it so little. Condense on the roster with better TE's next year and have Adkins being in the h-back, TE/FB blocking role.

Crazy how times change. Remember when we were consistently at the bottom of the NFL for players being offered a second contract (by any team), and were the worst at getting our drafted guys worth keeping to stay?

Engram is currently in LA visiting the Chargers. No contract agreement yet.

I like the signings! Our defense is going to be legit this year. I know there's injury concerns with these guys but our staff very likely gave a close evaluation and our training staff has been great with players. The upside is if these guys can play a whole season our D is going to be very good.

And even better than that: We're in a great position to draft RB and TE, our biggest needs on offense.

I enjoy seeing this team with direction again!
