When you were in combat in Viet Nam did you take hot days off?
Course I did. Marched my ass all the way to Danang and found an office until the heat or the monsoon passed. No one gets killed or kills in bad weather or temperatures over 80 degrees. Who wants to die all sweaty or have to fight hand to hand in 120 degree and 90% humidity??

BB always started practice between 8-9 every day. Mayo started today's at 11:00 AM and will continue to do so. He said that he want's everyone to get used to playing in the heat and humidity. He said that practices could go four straight hours through the worst heat of the day. When asked about the danger of overheating, he responded, "They all know the time we'll be on the field. They've all been told to pre-hydrate, maintain hydration and continue hydration after practice. It's no secret. Medical staff will be ready for any unexpected problems."

I sent him an email and told him that he should be here in Palm Coast. It was 87 at 10:00 and it's 90 right now with rain on the way.
I like it!

Maybe they can start winning in Miami!!

Mehhh this is patch and catch when there is no contact. Not all that impressive IMO
It was a one handed catch by Reagor about 35 yards downfield.

Pretty accurate by Maye.

Reagor had two steps on whoever the defender was.

Nothing that lights a wildfire, but it's Day 1 and things are only going to get better.

Hey if you were impressed I won't argue it.

The defender was beaten easily by Reagors speed. There are a lot of field stretching WR's in the league.
I doubt this CB makes the team.

CB Azizi Hearn: Unlike Jonathan Jones, Hearn did not have a particularly positive day. He registered a breakup on a Bailey Zappe pass intended for Javon Baker, but also gave up two long receptions to Jalen Reagor. The wideout zoomed past him with ease on the one-handed grab, and later also managed to create separation on the other catch.

If you didn't know.........................

Monday 7/29 will be the first practice in full pads and with full contact.

It is expected that the entire practice will be inside the twenty yard line. It is also expected that much of it will be inside the five and goal line offense and defense.

Note.........................

Matthew Judon was in full participation. He says he will play and honor his contract. If he doesn't get a new contract, he will not be back next year.

Davon Godchaux was on the sideline, no helmet and no cleats. He is apparently going to be a "hold in". He will be there, not participating but getting paid. He wants a new contract or he wants out.

Practice #2 on Thursday was nothing to write home about.

Biggest problem on the OL right now is RT. The three veteran guys who have been slotted in are being called 'saloon doors'.
Okafor, Wheatley, Lowe and the rookie Z. Henry have been beaten mercilessly. Henry is starting to get more reps as his game seems to be starting to pick up. LT has been solid with Calvin Anderson and Wallace. No one has gotten past either of them.

The passing game yesterday was completely on short and chip routes. Slashes, Dig ins, quick hooks, step and stays.
OL was the problem. 4 Sacks, 2 Scrambles, 5 passes into the ground. 16 of 22 plays were broken up overall. Maye broke off a run and his breakout speed surprised the defense.

Brissett 8/13
Maye 10/12

Point of order. Limited contact. No Pads. 7 on 7 and 11 on 11. It's Day #2.

Let's hope that Day #3 preps everyone for pads on Monday.

In other words, the defense appears ready and the offense no.
Note: Not a lot of change on the defense but many changes on offense!

BINGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From what Bedard had to say, a shit ton of new guys and rookies are getting a huge amount of playing time and they are competitive as all get out. He said, tongue in cheek, the vets better watch out when the pads are on.
