I want to see who DDV gets dealt for? I do not think he will be in Minny very long.

Probably dealt by the trade deadline.

He is the reason they made this trade. It is Randle who is not going to be with the Wolves for all that long.

This move was made to clear a place for Naz Reid to get more minutes and clear a spot in their roster to be able to extend him long term. This was an absolute needed move. Watching Reid go sign a contract with someone else was never an option. And with KAT and his contract on the team that wasnt going to be possible.

People seems to have the best version of KAT in their minds on this trade. Any Twolves fan can tell you the best version does not show up consistently or whenever it matters most.

Maybe he grows out of it with new team, but I don't care about that. He was not going to here. His contract was crippling, and the Wolves decline when he was out 20 games was minor. Keeping Reid means way more than keeping KAT.

I think this was a good trade for both teams.

The dominos of not having a 3rd year team option on hartstein have been wild

He was at his best for thibs

So there could be a boost in his play for that reason

Thibs needs to not run this team into the ground though

Thunder made sure they got that 3rd year team option

Maybe, but if he does it is not a version we would have seen in Minnesota. KAT in minny is the worst contract in basketball. Getting value and a deeper bench is a huge win for them.

Fair

I’m also low man on randle

And it’s entirely possible Knicks sold high on dd

Their issue is how this affects their cap and their own KJ Martin (achiewa) is clogging it up now that they can’t trade him

Some reporting Jeff Passan might replace Woj as the NBBA insider.

Passan is really good at baseball. Not sure about his basketball connections but he and Wo are close so I assume Woj may be behind this.

Word also coming out DDV was not too happy about the Bridges trade because if would eat at his mpg. Guess that makes sense.

He did seem the least thrilled about the whole "Nova Knicks" thing.

Derrick Rose is starting a new chapter in his life....becoming a motivational speaker to help kids succeed despite difficult circumstances.

Kudos to him.

The trade was good for both teams.

KAT helps Brunson out tremendously because he spreads the floor (Randle made 31%, 34%, and 31% of treys the last 3 seasons) and keeps the lane clear for Brunson to drive to the hoop. Randle helps out Ant big time and I think he will be motivated to ball out for a new deal. DDV might be happier in Minny if they give hgim a bigger role than what the Knicks were willing to give. But, the Wolves should explore trading him for an asset because they selected Dillingham high in the draft. And he makes no sense at 3rd on the depth chart. He needs PT and DDV just signed a 3 year deal.

Ddv as a pg is not ideal

It’s a stop gap while dillingham gets acclimated

I get it but a depth chart I saw had Dillingham #3. I would try and flip DDV for an asset at the deadline.

NAW is listed as the backup to Edwards.

Option b is to try and split randle into 2 guys.

A pg and a backup f

Short term it’s fine. I wouldn’t expect dillingham to be nba ready day 1, especially defnesively

Yeah, Randle is the lowest asset in the trade imo. I would love for Reid to become the starting of. Randle was just a needed contract

Naw has awesome perimeter D, but his shot it too inconsistent. DD adds a bench scoring threat the Wolves had lacked in the perimeter. Depending on time it takes Dillingham up to speed now they have 2. My guess is all 3 of those get regular rotation minutes
