I hate how every single time I have to explain how salary cap matching works….

You need to match salar when teams are over the cap

The clippers have no picks

They need draft capital, desperately

This is better than losing him for nothing and giving Jones jr 3 freaking years
Dallas is going to miss DJJ's defense. I realize they upgraded with Klay's shooting and scoring but he isn't the defender he used to be.

*Pick

One shitty pick.
Looney, a nice center for a middling team.
CP3, he can play half the season if he isn't injured and they can cut him
Payton, if he can stay healthy-not likely-he can be lumped in with all the guard they already have

fun wtf GIF by Mauro Gatti
He is literally inventing a scenario that never happened….lmfao

It was a single pick.

It has been reported ad naseum.

Clippers are losers in this fiasco.

But no point compounding insult with injury by taking back garbage.

They weren’t including Looney.

They were only offering more than a single pick.

So try again.

You are inventing your own narrative based off shit that isn’t true.

The Clippers are morons.

Not for declining the poo poo platter.

But because they really believed Paul would be willing to take a shit offer just to remain in LA.

You were not in the room.

Neither was I.

You know who was in the Room?

George.

I believe his narrative over the shit you are posting with zero sources.

He wanted a no trade clause and a 4 year deal.

When he saw they were done negotiating, he made his choice.

The truth is George and the Clippers played chicken.

The Clippers lost.
You think they really offered 2 years and 60 mill to start? All the Tweets we saw all season were it was the same contract as Leonard.

The Clippers did better in FA than taking back a garbage offer for PG.

CP? He fits a young team on SA better. CP and Harden in Houston didn't end well.

Draft capital? One shitty pick doesn't help them. Yes, of course they need to match salaries but why would the Clippers take shit and one shitty pick just to make GS better. Like I said, I don't know if they tried to move him at the deadline or what other teams were interested (guessing none) but it sounded like they offered a pile of shit. One pick was the only asset

Clips still fucked up

They have 3 picks the next 7 years

And you can’t feed me bs about being worried about multi year deals when they lit money on fire for 3 years for DJJ

Ask the bulls and blazers how counting on him works out

Now explain to us how staying in the apron makes the few picks they have virtually worthless, even if they finish dead last.

This isn’t just about paying a 100 million dollar tax bill for a borderline play in team.

Once you finish a season as a second-apron team, your first-round pick seven years into the future is "frozen." It can no longer be traded. If you finish above the second apron in more than one of the next four seasons afterward, that pick drops to No. 30 overall

Yeah they need to drop at some point

No question

Getting back under next year gets them back on track for that anyway

I just don’t get their entire plan from about Feb 1 on.

Maybe earlier since they vastly overrated mann and Powell

….and taking that shittacular deal would have stopped them from being able to trade them.

This is why we are fans, not front office personnel.

You are willing to eat shit for the rights to draft a guy that will spend most of his time in the G League.

I’m willing to suffer huge losses early in the unlikely hope that some clown will take our money later.

The difference being, my scenario is based on what is and yours is based on fanfiction that didn’t happen.

Oh my GAWD.

Mann is 28.

I dunno why some people think he still has a ton of upside.

He does not.

Agree.

They might be better off agging 3 or 4 for one smaller deal

But it’s hard to go with a short bench when one of your 14 is bronny

Maybe they go with 15 this year for that reason.

No doubt they fucked up but why go into the tax for one future pick. The FO was done paying into the tax if they weren't at least a legit contender on paper. PG13 left and that paper is ripped up into many pieces.

I wonder what they could flip Kawhi for if push comes to shove...better flip him before he forces his way out. Maybe he is content in LA win or lose. I never know with that guy

They now have time to trade kawhi

They likely have 8 months to deal harden

Or maybe I’m not understanding what you were saying @Mecca

I’m just not seeing what bad long term deals the warriors had to offer if Wiggins wasn’t in it

I am pretty sure right now we are at 15.

I would not mind offloading 2 of even 3 smaller contracts to go sign Trent Jr and add another player in the FA market.

It all depends on what bigger trades they make (if any). If DLo and/or Vincent are sent out, they will need PG help more than Trent (maybe Dinwiddie or Tyus Jones?)
