Missing from this news item is that Lebron is willing to take a payout (probably around 20M less) to allow the Lakers to use the full MLE if they can get "the right player". Sounds like the Lakers have moves lined up potentially.

Klay on the full MLE. Let's go full Days Of Our Lives with it as he stabs Golden St in the back

Yep, Shopson. I saw that and it is probably true but we shall see what Pelinka/Redick have in mind as time proceeds toward the actual FA period commencement!

Derozan, KCP, Bridges, split it for two players, use it in a trade for a pick (Carter from the Magic?), lots of options. How realistic is the question lol. Tough to tell based on the trades made thus far this offseason...

20M total over 2-3 years? Definitely doesn’t take 20M a year to get the full MLE. So he would be 140M instead of 160M in a 3 year deal

I am quite sure the Lakers and some other teams like the Clippers and the W's are working on things to get the FAs they want into their respective folds!

That is what it will take to get the Lakers under the luxury tax, under $35M per for Lebron.

Right now, they are about $43M under the tax (171.3M). They still need to pay their draft picks, Reddish could opt in, and Christie is an RFA.

They could lessen that a bit by taking less in a few trades, but also likely want to dump some contacts (Wood, Hayes, Reddish if necessary), maybe with 2nds if not included in bigger trades.

If they do use the MLE, they are hard-capped at the first threshold, $178.86M.

KCP likely getting a Bruce Brown type deal, I heard 2 years and 50 may be possible.

Wonder how much Christie is going to get...it would be nice to keep him.

He plays solid defense.

He’s a Sixer
This seems like it, very few teams with enough space and they are probably the closest to title contention

This also makes Klay to Orlando more likely

Warriors are now out of the running for PG

Too bad funbags is on time out, or maybe even banned? @trojanfan12 is funbags permabanned or just temporary?

I gotta say, I like Paul George, I’ll like him even more when he leaves the Clippers… but no way in hell is he worth $50m+ a year.

Hadn't heard that. Would be great if he does.
