Shelton Tiafoe was a pretty fun match match.

I don’t know if he would beat Djokovic, but he’ll give him a good run.

Coco has been unstoppable since bringing on Brad Gilbert as her coach. I think she's 15-1 since hiring him and won her last two tournaments. She's always had the ability and talent but Gilbert must have seen something other's missed to take it to this level. She was also very gracious after beating Wozniacki. If she wins I hope they have the roof open or the crowd may blow it off Ashe stadium.

Anyone that thinks Shelton can beat Djoker is living in a Fool’s paradise.

Don’t know why Rublev bothered to show up. Medved is beating him up silly.

Men’s tennis has morphed into a boring side-to-side tennis until someone hits the ball into the net or dumps it into the net. No one has the guts to come to the net on many good deep shots just because their volleying skills didn’t advance with racket and string technology.

The net game has been dwarfed or stunted. This is a “super-pusher” type of game we are witnessing where more points are being decided from errors than construction of a winner. Djoker is like a super-pusher with enhanced athleticism from whatever gear he is using and the type of training he does off court.

Any game that is decided by a player’s stamina and not by playing skill is boring and ugly. Points end due to a physical failure to get to the ball from exhaustion rather than being outplayed with skill.

Never said he was gonna beat him. I think he’ll die with his boots on.
Shelton has good physical prowess. But his game is immature ( that back to back double fault in his last match is proof of that )

My request to Rublev. Don’t do silly fist pumps after breaking serve if you can’t back it up with service holds and closing out a set!

Pretty sadistic of the tournament organizers to have a gladiator like event in extreme conditions while they are lounging in air conditioned rooms.

Players with limited movement rarely do well against Djokovic. That's Shelton.

At his best, Tiafoe would have made it more competitive against Djokovic. But that's if Tiafoe would have played his best.

Tiafoe seems more bark than bite and more show (swagger) than actual talent. Custom made shoes before he has won anything of relevance? Maybe that’s what the trend is nowadays.

In general, agree.

But on a case by case basis, Alcaraz is pretty good at the net.

Alcaraz is somewhat Pete like at 4-4 crunch time he is cranking up the forehand deep and coming in At the net to finish off the point on opponents serve!! This I have not seen in a while.

Alcaraz is truly an anomaly and that is why he is #1.

It's stuff like this that give him the overall talent edge, over players like Medvedev, Rublev, Zverev, and Tsitsipas.

Return and volley. That sounds like the name of it.

Alcaraz is truly an anomaly and that is why he is #1.

His ability to finish points at the net, gives him something that Zverev, Tsitsipas, Medvedev, Rublev don't have.

That variety gives him a little more overall talent.
