That team had no business making it there at all.

Meh, it was a great accomplishment, but it's also not like the East was some murderers row at that time. The fact that he was unable to get back to the finals when he had more talented teams around him is telling.

Cavs were damn good but still no idea how that team won 66 games. His teams after he came back were so much better and I think the most we won was 55-57.

Guess I do have an idea (at least comparing the Cavs teams)....the 66 win team wanted to win in regular season and other teams didn't care.

Winning titles is how teams are ultimately judged.

Apparently, the Cavs and Celtics couldn't accomplish that despite being "among the top 2 or 3 teams in the league".

You basically said the reason why the Cavs & Celts had those win totals was because they played in the east. My response to that was to bring up their record against the west that year which happens to be the same or better than their win % against the east
