It is an incredibly stupid conversation because anyone can go back and read this little debate and see it had nothing to do with winning title. It was a AD vs Dwight 75th team debate which led to me reminding myself that group he took to the finals.
He made it to 1 Finals with Orlando and he did not do it alone. He had more help than you clearly remember.

Lewis
Turk
and Nelson.

All 3 were hardly chopped liver and Howard barely averaged more ppg than those 3 did.....that was a team that had 4 guys averaging at least 16ppg. Howard was the one who averaged a little more than 20ppg.

doesn't this kind of help the case of what this was really about......Howard getting his team past those teams?

Yes and no.

As I acknowledged, it was a great accomplishment, but the East wasn't exactly murderers row at the time either.

Generally speaking, when a team like that Orlando team or even that awful Cavs team that Lebron dragged to the finals makes it out of their conference, it's either because they got some injury luck, the conference wasn't as tough or a little of both.

Based on @The Q post...looks like a little of both for Orlando that season.

That's the thing with 7 game series, there don't tend to be a lot of upsets.

To be fair Kg hurt his knee late in that year and was never the same

Cost the Celtics a 3 peat

Yeah I remembered that. Celtics would have approached 70 wins without his injury

Ask anybody AD or Howard in their prime....I would venture to say most would take AD. Better 2 way player since he can stretch the floor.

Depends...if you're talking about talent and what they can do on the court...yes, you take AD.

However, as they saying goes "Availability is the most important ability" and Dwight has that over AD.

The accolades Howard got basically over AD because of AD's bad luck with injuries.

Yeah, I don't think he was trying to say that injuries don't matter. He was using accolades and, whether because of health or not, Dwight has more.

There are a lot of folks who say T-Mac was better than Kobe, but injuries ruined his career.

Can't exactly say that injuries have ruined his career, they have cost him as far as accolades.

Historically speaking, has there been a team with worse injury luck than the Blazers?

Right off the top of my head, I can think of at least 3 Blazers teams over the years that could have won at least 1 and maybe multiple titles if not for injuries.
