You don't think he works on his game? We kept seeing shots of him in the gym making 3s. The problem is between his ears. He has some sort of mental block, potentially part of that from switching his shooting hand.

The ironic part of all the playoff outrage over Simmons' deferring shots? The play most featured ended in a scoring opportunity and points.

Once Simmons contract is up, I wouldn't mind seeing him with the Spurs or Lakers. I think that starting over without that salary pressure could help put him back on track, and I think Ham/Handy and/or Pop could get through to him.

Totally agree on the problem with his shooting being mental. That is pretty clear.

But I also don’t believe he works on his game enough.

I want nothing to do with Duncan

Take Lowry and buy him out

Or, keep him around for a while, if you’re utah last year you can use him as the matching salary to trade for Zion lol

I agree, Lowry's contract is the much better fit and is expiring. He can help Scoot get established and back him up and become an asset at the deadline.

I don't know how any of us knows how much work he is putting in. Not much now likely if he's recovering from more back surgery.

True.

Just going by teammate perception as they probably do have some idea.

But also true that none of his teammates know what is going on inside his head.

He’s had multiple back injuries

Like, the sixers said he had none

That’s either malpractice or malfeasance

I’ll let you guys pick

It would have been the wrong decision to draft anyone other than Ben Simmons.

His first couple years in the league were awesome. He looked like a future superstar.

If the smoke was there as you say, the mistake was not trading the asset when it was at peak value.

They could have gotten almost anyone to pair with Embiid in a package centered around Ben Simmons. Any superstar player even close to being involved in trade rumors could have been a 6er.

Saying they should have drafted Brandon Ingram or someone else instead is not a good move. Ingram doesn’t move the needle enough

They needed to trade Simmons early, before everyone around him gave up on him.
The Sixers didn't have a real GM at the time.

Just a fake ass league plant.

Probably because the Bulls don't want Harden and Harden doesn't want the Bulls?
Fucking assholes

He lead the league in Assists and it's Chicago.

3 way deal

Bulls get a 1st round pick, get rid of the Lonzo contract and get a ton of cap space plus DeRozan coming off their books

Clippers get Harden and Tucker plus they swap out Drummond for Zubac and can start Plumlee. They don’t have to give up any of their core, or a pick, or Powell or Mann.

Sixers parlay Harden and Harris into more years of contract but now they have Lavine Maxey Embiid and better suited role players around them.

True. And that was awful that the league did that.

But drafting Simmons was a great decision.

As I and others have said before, he was literally the most valuable trade asset in the league for a couple years.

I think in the right situation....he could revive his career. Pass, rebound and defend. Be a Draymond type for a team that has the right coach and doesn't need him to score a lot.

Good luck with that to whoever believes it.

Maybe.

Lots of baggage there and also one of those guys whose game revolves around athleticism.

If his injuries sapped some of the explosiveness, he just might not ever get back to being productive.

But I agree absolutely worth the risk for quite a few teams.

He still is under contract for 2 seasons so this coming season will tell us nothing. We will know next season if he wants another contract or not. Brooklyn is stuck with him until then I imagine.

Harsh…

If I’m the Cavs, I’m asking Mitchell this question straight up.

Are you open to being here longterm?

No ironclad, I’m 100% extending.

But, would you consider it?

…..any hedging, hemming or hawing….trade him…..NEXT YEAR.
