Not sure I heard it this ironclad but was also supposed to be no chance Love would extend (after he first got here) and would go to LA.

The guy has given no sign he does not love it here. as others have said.....if you offer him a max and he gives the indication then he'll never stay? OK. Go ahead and deal him.

Who said that?

I remember the speculation that he wouldn’t resign after it seemed that he wasn’t getting along well with LeBron and Kyrie.

But I had also heard Love and the Cavs had a gentlemen’s agreement that he would resign after the year was up if Cleveland traded for him.

Kobe and MJ in the same 5 without Bird or LeBron is just dumb.
I saw where originally he had Bird but replaced him with Kobe. For some reason I don’t think we are getting the whole story what was behind this.

With Steph being a shooter that is surprising. As far as Bron, he dominated the W’s and he saw it firsthand. Maybe that is just resentment for 3-1 comeback which is expected

Steph’s all time starting 5

Well, he got the point guard, power forward and shooting guard right.

SF should have been Lebron. Kobe was a 2 guard.

Center should have been Kareem. After all, Kareem is in the GOAT convo...Shaq isn't.

For a lot of these guys, Kobe was the guy they grew up idolizing. I think he gets elevated in a lot of their minds because of that. So, he ends up higher on lists like this than he should be.

Apparently, even the son of a former player isn't immune to it either, since he moved Kobe out of position to include him. lol

And not to sound morbid but when an artist or athlete dies young we have a tendency to prop them up and romanticize their accomplishments. Kobe is no slouch and in my eyes a top 10 player all time. I’m just talking about why he would be propped up to a top 5 situation.

That is 100% why so many people are currently overrating Kobe’s greatness.

Even without that, if he's who you grew up idolizing, you're going to elevate him. I'm a Kobe fan, but I grew up watching Magic/Bird/Jordan etc, so I don't elevate him as high as others might.

If I am making my best all time starting 5, there are 3 who just have to be on it.

MJ, LeBron and Kareem

They were the best at their positions by a considerable margin, IMO.

From there, it isn’t about getting the next two best players necessarily, but it is about getting all time greats who beat fit with what is already there.

So give me Curry and Bird to round out my 5. Just so much shooting/playmaking to add, and also both guys are great playing off the ball, which they would have to on this team.

Bird would be a 4 if he was in the league today and he has the skill set to be that.

If I’m being fair, it’s why I’m willing to admit that there isn’t anything that LeBron can do now to talk me off of the MJ is the Goat position. He transcended the sport in a way I’ve never seen another athlete able to do with the exception of Tiger in golf.

Good comment about a guy coming up and idolizing a player.
