Has he said ANYTHING about leaving other than giving a few teams when someone directly asked him if any teams interested him?
Once again, at the end of the year he made it extremely clear that he didnt want to go the rebuilding route. He clearly wanted portland to use their top pick to acquire a big named player to play with him and not some young player that may take 2-3 years to develop

Thats fine...point is we dont want to hear anything about him leaving again if thats the case. He made pointed comments after the season that indicated he did not want to go the rebuilding route at his age.

Exactly. If you're going to put your business out there, folks are gonna talk about it.

Yeahh lol i think any big trade miami make is to have bam & jimmy play with any big name player they acquire
its definitely something they leaked to a reporter just to troll Miami. Which is funny if you ask me.

He literally said this at the end of the season lol

Lillard, who was shut down in late March due to a calf issue, went viral for a comment that he made to reporters after Sunday’s finale.

“I don’t have much of an appetite for building with guys 2 and 3 years away and not really go after it,” said Lillard, per Blazers writer Sean Highkin.

He dont have to spell it out for you. He doesn't have to say trade me to read the writing on the wall. Based on his comments in April, he will likely want out if they keep their pick

From what I recall, they've never really taken the "big swing". They've never really gone after another superstar or 2 to pair with him. Some of that is on Dame because he's never really demanded it...but mostly it's on the team for not looking at what they had with him and doing everything in their power to put a contending roster around him.

What do you think about #3 and Simons to Toronto for #13, Anunoby and Trent Jr (opting in on his PO) as a first move? Does Portland need more back? More defense, spacing and experience for Portland at the wings, would still have 2 1sts this year to potentially trade in other deals. Re-sign Grant, use those two firsts (via Knicks and Raptors) to improve around this core.

I don't think "superstar" needs to be the target. Aiming just a bit below that and having more players at that level could rocket this team right back into the mix.

I mean one team made 2 finals in 4 years.....the other missed the playoffs the last 2 seasons

Focusing on moving forward best for your team. Miami has other ways to improve the team if Dame isn't available. Portland on the other hand options are almost nothing if they keep the 3rd pick and keep dame

Just trade #3 and some cap space for Siakam straight up. Why would you have to deal Simons?

But not that he wanted to leave, just wanted his team to re-direct that asset. Should be easy enough, everyone wants to move up in this draft it seems.

All reports indicate portland will keep their pick and he should follow through on what he said if that's the case is all im saying

I guess we shall see.

I dont really see many assets that Miami has to trade. Why I thought Beal was a possibility since basically it just turned into a salary dump. Gotta think thereyd be pretty good competition for Lillard if he was moved- and it does not seem like they want to move him. #3 pick could prob bring back something substantial to help- and its not like the West is loaded at this point.

Is Siakam that much better for the Blazers than just keeping Grant? Blazers don't have that cap space.

I would move Simons to better use that salary. Undersized guard that hasn't made a difference with Dame thus far, and Portland was said to be shopping him.

Yes he is. Siakam is a top 25 player

Seems reasonable to me, make a timeline that ends the big three for sure in 3 years.

Turn 1 year $27 mil into say 3 years $45-50 mil works for me I could see Dray doing that, then retiring, then taking over for Chuck on TNT
$15M a year? LOL

Doesn't space the floor as well as Grant, would create another need to move on from Nurkic, not an easy trade. Probably should be done anyway, and maybe those other 1sts could sweeten such a move.

That would be a good start. Especially if they follow up as you suggested. It would be nice if they got 1 superstar to pair with him. But we also just saw a team with 1 bona fide superstar an emerging star and a bunch of really good players win a title.

Imo, the Blazers need to either commit to Dame or move Dame and commit to rebuilding. Like @bksballer89 said...Dame has said he's not into playing with guys who are 2 or 3 years away...but I think he needs to be even more forceful and do like Kobe did a couple of seasons after Shaq left...just come out and say...get me guys who can win right now or trade me.
