AD was in the boxing ring as part of an offseason workout?

With somebody that looked like Kevin Hart.....LOL.

The Cavs and Sixers win totals are both at 50.5 wins next season.

Saw that on NBA Today.

There were definitely some better options but the Cavs weren't going to take Dame after drafting Kyrie.

Yeah it is, too bad he didn't get hurt at Cuse...would have saved the Cavs
Yeah...still no Dame but maybe Barnes?

He was already coming off the bench. I don't recall him ever being a starter at Syracuse.
Nope, he was on the hype train. He did get all-conference still I believe

Kawhi kind of did this too.

Toronto decided to trade for him anyway even though they weren’t on his preferred list.

And they won a ring.

Dame is trying to create leverage where there really isn’t any. People in general are just way too far on the side on franchise/ownership in these issues.

Portland does not have to trade Dame to Miami. They don’t have to trade him at all. They can call his bluff. He is under contract.

What the league might try to do is create some language to make it easier for the team to not pay the player who is sitting out in this scenario.

But until Dame actually makes that decision to sit out?

He hasn’t done anything to dishonor his contract.
Agree....though fairly certain it's easy to not pay players who sit out as I don't believe they must pay players who choose to sit out.

And risk him maybe sitting out or infecting that young locker room?

Not very smart.
Infecting a young locker room? That’s kind of overblown. He’s not going Minnesota Jimmy Butler on them. He’s more likely to just Ben Simmons shit and stay away. You don’t take a bad deal to avoid a hypothetical like that.

They're a tough read. How sustainable was that late run from last year? Given that Lebron and DLo were out for considerable portions of it, they should be on a similar pace. Roster is a bit more balanced now, and they actually have continuity for most of the roster for the first time in many years.
Think the only thing that keeps them under would be AD (or Lebron) missing a good chunk of games and, sure, that could happen.

I don’t even buy that he will hold out. I still think this gets done but it’s ridiculous to think Portland has to do anything. One last time, people need to look up why there is a supermax in the first place.

It is why I want Rob to bring in Christian Wood.....he could step in for AD when he inevitably gets hurt and play pretty well.

At this point we have to assume that Lebron and AD are going to miss at least 15-20 games each. The key is to keep the number of games they miss at the same time as low as possible.

This roster can overcome those 2 missing games as long as there aren't too many where they're both out.

Nah, easy over for the Sixers.
On the surface? They probably win at least 50. At the same time, you have two things to worry about.
1. An Embiid injury which is always a concern
2. If Harden just goes bat shit crazy and decides he won’t play unless he’s traded and they take back less than value.

I don’t think 2 is in the best interest of Harden but his history says it’s always a possibility.

While we are on the subject of over unders I’ve been thinking about a contest we could have. Everyone picks 3 unders and 3 overs. For every team that hits you get 1000 points. You would also get an extra 100 points for each additional win, or loss, that your winners get above or below the total. We will go off of the opening day odds as I’m not keeping up with different totals. Maybe @trojanfan12 will cough up some fake cash or a catered meal for the winners. Thoughts?
