On the surface? They probably win at least 50. At the same time, you have two things to worry about.
1. An Embiid injury which is always a concern
2. If Harden just goes bat shit crazy and decides he won’t play unless he’s traded and they take back less than value.

I don’t think 2 is in the best interest of Harden but his history says it’s always a possibility.
Just basing it off the hire of Nurse, he is a much better coach.

Embiid has played in 66 and 68 games the last 2 seasons.....if he gets hurt and misses 18-20 games?

You have Harden, Maxey and Harris to pick up the scoring slack.....and you will love Bamba (as I have been telling you).....he can rebound and defend. And Reed can do the same.

Yeah gun to my head on 50.5 I would say it’s an over. I’m just talking about what could happen to make the play look bad and they come in under.

I think the bigger question is whether Harden is on the team and what they get back for him....not Embiid getting hurt.

On the over 50.5.

I don’t even buy that he will hold out. I still think this gets done but it’s ridiculous to think Portland has to do anything. One last time, people need to look up why there is a supermax in the first place.

Yeah, you keep harping on that. The idea is that they be able to keep their top players so they can compete for titles. Some have...most others, like Portland, are doing the same shit they've always done. Additionally, Dame has been there 11 years...what do they have to show for it? 1 WCF appearance?

Pretty much all top players take that max deal after their rookie deal...so these poor little small market teams get a minimum of 7-8 years to put a contender around them.

If they can't/don't...that's on them.

While we are on the subject of over unders I’ve been thinking about a contest we could have. Everyone picks 3 unders and 3 overs. For every team that hits you get 1000 points. You would also get an extra 100 points for each additional win, or loss, that your winners get above or below the total. We will go off of the opening day odds as I’m not keeping up with different totals. Maybe @trojanfan12 will cough up some fake cash or a catered meal for the winners. Thoughts?

I'd have to ask about the vcash. I think it's been done before. I'll check.

They haven't done much in FA Since they added a washed up Pippen and Stoudamire but those moves actually made them competitive....and that was a long ass time ago....LOL.

Exactly. They took a big swing though and might have gotten a title if they didn't melt down in that 4th quarter vs. the Lakers.

What big swing have they taken for Dame?

They haven't.

I am on your side in this one. Do not blame Dame at all....I actually want to see him go full nuclear on them.

LOL.

A little off topic but I really want the Lakers to add Christian Wood....

Great insurance in case or when inevitably AD gets banged up.

It is why I want Rob to bring in Christian Wood.....he could step in for AD when he inevitably gets hurt and play pretty well.
I'd like my team to get him, too, but thinking with there being so little interest this might be nothing more than wanting the name.

Is Nurse so much better? His team was supposed to make another leap last season and instead regressed. I like the guy but like Doc he may be living off of one magical season.
