I got no idea what Utah is doing
Asset accumulation. Utah is never going to sign an elite prospect, need all yjey can to trade for a disgruntled one when they are ready.

If Utah was in Philidelphia the NBA would have already forced them to take a terrible GM to destroy the foundation they have put down.

Utah added F Taylor Hendricks in the draft along with G Keonte George. And now Paul Reed.

Looks like they are trying to compete to get into the play-in next season.

I like what Danny is doing. They have added some really good young players, a lot of draft picks and were still fighting for a play-in spot this past season.

Details of the Patty Mills trade were released. The Thunder got 3 second rd picks for taking him. One of them is this coming year so unless the Rockets finish bottom 4 the Thunder own their whole draft.

Not many. Ben Simmons?
He had a few Lebron comparisons and at the time I thought it was insane. I dont think he was generational. I don’t even consider Zion that either.

Most of the superstars were not viewed as generational talent in college, as prospects or even early in their career.
Lebron is the only one in the league currently that was viewed generational.

Luka, Giannis, Kawhi, Steph were not viewed the same way.

Now Wemby could very well fall short but he is viewed as generational talent. His game is being viewed as Giannis with a jumpshot, more NBA-ready with way more hype.

I heard mention of “unicorn” and “Magic Johnson in a 6’11’’ frame with point guard skills”. I followed the player very closely once drafted by the Sixers and all of those things were said about him.

Yeah definitely. I would say he was borderline, the closest to generational since Lebron. I didn’t view him that way but I definitely heard of lot of talk

I still think he had that kind of ability. The problem is that he doesn’t have that fire that allowed him to actualize his potential and then he got into his own head and lost confidence. He will never reach those projections but I still think he controls where he goes from here and that he’s redeemable as a player.

I really don’t get what the rockets are doing there

They traded for him to send him way for more picks?

Baffling

I guess they would rather spend their cap space on Brooks

I agree but even then his jumpshot is non-existent, it was in college too. Even in his scouting, that was the issue. Partly why I didn’t view him as generational, big flaw

Lots of guys come into the league without a jump shot. Wemby doesn’t have a reliable 3 pt shot yet either.

I think it had to do with the Lopez signing, could be wrong. Rumors Lopez was signing then the Rockets cleared space and made moves dependent on signing him…he dashes back to MIL

Simmons wasn’t a big, Wemby is a big. He was a point forward. Wemby could never be a consistent shooter like Giannis and still be generational. Simmons needed a jumper, it’s what was missing from his game even when he was great. Taking the next step was dependent on that factor
