Simmons wasn’t a big, Wemby is a big. He was a point forward. Wemby could never be a consistent shooter like Giannis and still be generational. Simmons needed a jumper, it’s what was missing from his game even when he was great. Taking the next step was dependent on that factor
Can we please quit taking about Simmons being anything generational? Generational nutjob possibly.

Asset accumulation. Utah is never going to sign an elite prospect, need all yjey can to trade for a disgruntled one when they are ready.

If Utah was in Philidelphia the NBA would have already forced them to take a terrible GM to destroy the foundation they have put down.

They should’ve traded Clarkson for more picks

I agree but even then his jumpshot is non-existent, it was in college too. Even in his scouting, that was the issue. Partly why I didn’t view him as generational, big flaw

Yeah, I think folks assumed that he'd develop enough of a perimeter shot to where teams couldn't just ignore him out there.

Really like the Warriors snatching up Saric. Still has a good shot and is a smart passer. Will make for a great back up center and can play some small ball 5 for them against certain teams. Probably most importantly he can unlock different line up combos for them with his passing and spacing. They didn't have many good front court options last season and basically had to play one way.

I'm not sure they do. Most teams would, but the Warriors haven't really won with a true big since Andrew Bogut. Looney, Draymond, and a shooting "big" has been enough to get them thru the rest of the time they've been good. Most are gonna point to Jokic and say they need someone to battle with him but there's very few players in the league that can actually do that.

Not saying they need one to start or even be a part of the regular rotation but after i saw what AD did to them, would be good to have one

2022 was an outlier. Other than that year, every year they had at least 2 true bigs. More of a need again bc of Jokic and AD, can add in guys like Ayton, Towns. Like you said, just on case

That kid is not a "generational talent". Do you remember what Magic and Bird looked like as rookies? MJ? LBJ? Unless your definition of a "generation" is 4-5 years because this kid will not be as good as Luka. He will be a plus defender while he hopefully gains 30-40 pounds so he won't be bounced around like a ping pong ball in a summer league game, and someone needs to tell him that sub 30% from 3 the last five years means he probably needs to quit jacking it up like Steph Curry
I dont think he will be a generational talent either

If im wrong ill admit it but i think he is to lanky and thin and and injuries are a possibility. Hopefully im wrong

Same things were said about KD and more recently, Brandon Ingram.

Hell, when you compare most players when they first enter the league to when they've been in it for a few years, just about all of them look too skinny those first couple of seasons.

Yep shit damn near most adults put on weight the same way. Most of us looked completely different weight wise when we were 23 compared to 19
