Gotta say that right now it feels like no one won this trade.

Just like when SJ traded for EK my only thought is “couldn’t they have used the assets/cap space on something more useful?”. He just isn’t really filling a need here and they got him at his most expensive. Flip side, if this works Pit will score 8000 goals next season.

SJ at least gets cap space and can flip Hoffman for something. It fits what they’re trying to do. Grier said he wasn’t going to eat much and give him away and he did that. Good on him.

Montreal :noidea:

The price for the Sharks to get rid of that long term pain of ek’s contract was the short term cap hit of 2 meh forwards who i guess they can flip if they both find their games (granlund seems washed to me though :noidea: )

They have less cap space for 23/24 than they did before the trade but its go off track for mack time anyways :noidea:

The Penguins were already old, crusty and in cap hell so getting rid of turds for different turds didn't really matter. Not really sure what these deals accomplished for the Sharks or Canadiens as both teams took on crap players and more cap space.

EDIT: I guess taking on the Penguins drafts picks with the assumption they will suck makes sense.

I wish him well.
That changes if he makes the team, of course

There it is. The missing piece the Oilers finally needed to win the cup.
He hasn't been able to walk a flight of stairs without getting winded for the past couple of years.

/ of course, neither have I
