Nothing warms my heart more than seeing the Bolts overpay.

I guess they felt they had to sign him regardless, after all the draft capital they gave up to get him. Seems like an overpay for a guy who scored 21 goals one season and six the next.

And they have Seabrook LTIR to make anything happen moving forward. :L

according to capfriendly, the Seabrook LTIR is needed just to get them below the cap. They have approximately $300,000 left after the Seabrook LTIR.

never fear, someone will come down with an injury at the start of the season lol

Yep I fully expect Stamkos to miss most of the season just like Stone will in Vegas.

if the Leafs had a pair, Tavares would come down with something (concussion?), resign Nylander and add Karlsson with the cap space. Then sprinkle JT with Holy water on Easter….

Kenny is a great dude. Has an amazing eye for technical details and can really explain why adjusting technique will work. And he flat out loves the game. Will talk about it for hours with anyone who will listen. We're gonna miss him. Great hire.

@sbb122 think you hit the nail on the head with him.
I’d like to see him in Pittsburgh. A one-year deal would basically be a no risk signing and he has to be better than some of the forwards on that team

OK, so the Preds held their annual "Christmas in July" event this past Saturday. I was a little surprised at how many turned out since it was basically a used equipment sale with some free popcorn and tequila, plus a chance to take a Christmas photo with the mascot, Gnash.

Do other teams do this sort of thing? I thought the whole idea of selling game-used equipment just screamed "poverty franchise" but maybe other teams do it too.

If you care, pricing was, well, odd. Sticks went for $75, so did gloves. Unless you wanted goalie gloves, those were $375 Found that out the hard way when I went to pay for what I thought was a $75 Saros catching glove lol.

I did not notice the price on skates, yes they sold socks (they looked laundered lol), elbow pads, you name it. Pants though were only $20 which I thought was a bargain, even though a wee bit large for me lol.

All in all, strange event. Only in Nashville, but is it?

Jackets don't have a specific event for people to buy but often sell used gear in their team store. I almost bought a set of leg pads that Anton Forsberg wore here for my son. They wanted 450 for them which was great considering they were pro level CCMs. I need new gloves, so I am probably going to walk over there tomorrow and see what they have.

They also sell in bulk to local shops. Once I wandered into a Play It Again Sports and found like 20 Dubinsky and Atkinson sticks. No idea if actually game used or not.

Flames have a used equipment sale every year and I think the proceeds go to their main charity (Flames foundation).

You are that much closer to winning the Karlsson sweepstakes ! Now you need the Canes to sign DeAngelo for 5x5 or something else silly
The Penguins are old and in cap hell for a few years. Karlsson coming to Pittsburgh doesn't bother me for that reason as it just keeps up the facade of them still trying.

As for the Canes I am begging they do something that stupid.
