Will have a competitive team once the dust settles. Need to limit mistakes and penalties, which hounded the team last year. And, game planning, one of the worst years in memory for that.Offensive line took another hit last night. Reilly Reiff suffered a lower body injury and had a real problem getting up. He was escorted off the field and to the locker room. There is no further status.
Michael Owenue was activated Thursday but will need some time to get into game shape.
Tuesday is cut down day and Bill will certainly be making all kinds of promises and moves before he gives his list to the NFL .
You know that he must keep people on the 53 man roster un order to IR them for a return during the season. Don't be surprised if Reiff is kept on the roster and IR'd on Wednesday. If the injury is serious and he's gone, BB won't hesitate to immediately put him on IR.
Might see a lot of strange names on the roster when all of the dust settles.
Trent Brown, Cole Strange, David Andrews, Chase Hines, Conor Mc Dermott, Siddy Sow, Antonio Mafi, Micah Vanderpool
PS?? James Ferentz, Andrew Stueber, Bill Murray?? Or will another team with OL needs be looking at them??
We know that Groh and BB will be scouring the other 31 teams' cuts.
As always, one thing affects another. This OL has shown in the preseason, problems run blocking as well as pass blocking. I think Klemm does have a small piece of it when he says it's communication and not ability. BUT, as a whole, they break down and let themselves get pushed back and the pocket starts to collapse. Now the QBs who are not fleet of foot, and a bit slow in releasing the ball, have to relocate. Since they can't run away toward the sideline, they start to move forward as the line is losing position. The options remaining are not good. Throw the ball away, take a sack, try to run but get caught and lose yardage or throw at or near someone and hope that they can catch it. That problem also affaects the WRs. They get to where they're supposed to be but the QB is trying to move so they have alter their routes and now the QB gets a second and he can't find them where they're supposed to be.Will have a competitive team once the dust settles. Yeah, the O line is shabby but that is always a challenge, not only for the Pats. Need to work around that with what is available. Also, ST which usually was strong, was pathetic down the stretch. Last year, at least 3 games were lost because of mistakes and penalties. Limit that and team will be much better. As always, one thing affects another. Sometime the settled dust exposes a bigger problem.
Is it a surprising cut?AND IT BEGINS.................................
Patriots make first roster cut, and it's a surprising one
The first roster cut for the Patriots is on the defensive side of the ballpatriotswire.usatoday.com
Is that the second cousin of Mercy Killing? Or was that Mercy Me?I'd call it a "mercy cut"

He cut a player he viewed as least likely to be signed by someone else. He might have even promised to resign him after the IR list is filled. Is it a surprising cut?

He sucks, never understood what anyone saw in him"Running back J.J. Taylor was cut by the Patriots on Tuesday, and appears to be a candidate for the practice squad. However, he would reportedly “like to try and get a fresh start somewhere else” after spending his entire four-year career in New England but having had a limited impact."
Did a hell of a job returning kicks in Tennessee the other night. Just saying. He sucks, never understood what anyone saw in him
