1) we are all "bought in"
2)I did not want Dhop. Money? injuries? Old? Won't practice?
3) the nepotism ship has sailed. Belichick junior has done a great job and continues to learn. Well respected!
4) you can't just throw money at every need. There will be other opportunities - it's just July!
1) was BK just being snarky
2) Money was reasonable. I'll give you I didn't like the lack of practice participation. Still the best option that was out there.
3) Not sure I agree. Steve is just one of the boys. How much time is BB spending mentoring/watching over them while neglecting other duties? It falls in line with his lack of giving out titles. Nepotism/Egotism...
4) He had the $ to fix a perceived problem. It's not like his Agholor and company blunder. Next year NE is fat in projected cap space. Other teams manuevering around the cap but not BB.

I'm ready for a new GM. If this season is a failure, I say find a GM and let Bill focus on coaching. If he balks, he walks. Not sure who I'd replace him with but I'm not liking the trends. Catch up with the times Bill.

Apparently we offered the same money with more of it tied to incentives.
If Dhop plays 9 games this year will he look like a bargain to the Titans?

“New England was willing to match the max total ($15 million) for 2023, only with a far higher percentage of that total tied to incentives as part of an offer that, structurally at least, looked a little like Kansas City’s offer before the draft,” Breer wrote Tuesday."
So he didn't want to play here then? BOB comes to mind

Why? Other than WR, what position has BB done a bad job drafting/signing? And nobody signs depth like BB.

Look at our last few drafts. Some seriously solid players.

He has wiffed on multiple early round picks.

He's let talented players walk.

He's let multiple FAs slip by.

He's wasted plenty of draft capital.

Made many questionable moves/trades during the draft.

He hasn't pre or post Brady so the verdict is still out.

He's had roughly the same talent yet isn't producing.

The list goes on and on.

Maybe it's time he focused on coaching? Just saying.

Is there a better GM and or coach out there? Only time will tell.

I'm with RK. The leash is tightening. Sorry the AFCE is so strong this year. BB needs results

LOL Okay so who are you targeting?

Every coach has wiffed on early round picks

Walk why? B/C he won't over pay for talent./

How did he waste draft capital? BB tends to move out of round one for additional picks

Which HC or GM hasn't ?
He's let talented players walk.
Which HC or GM hasn't ? For what price and at what savings
He's let multiple FAs slip by.
Which HC or GM hasn't ? Did he or did he not make valid offers? To who? How do you know?
He's wasted plenty of draft capital.
Which HC or GM hasn't ? Is that the same as your first comment?
Made many questionable moves/trades during the draft.
Which HC or GM hasn't ? And made many that were great.

I just don't get it, I don't understand the BB on the hot seat thing, that's nuts to me. If that happens I hope he goes back to NYJ and kicks the Pats asses

Same here. I see the last four seasons as the perfect storm of coaching/GM challenges. The GOAT gone(it was time). Dante, the best O-line coach ever, gone. Ivan fears gone. Josh gone. Flores gone. Matty P and Judge moved on and came back during this time. They were up against the cap after going in heavy and winning a Super Bowl. The list goes on and on.

The only draft disaster I can think of is wasting a 1st on Harry but unless somebody had a crystal ball, who knew? He had a first round grade.

Agholor and Smith were shitty acquisitions but shit happens.

We have a solid defense built almost entirely via the draft with a few stellar FA additions.

Kraft is way too smart to not know all of this. There is no hot seat.

Sure, in a fucking vacuum.

There's the salary cap which has to be managed both year to year and years in advance. There's also years of late round picks, so yeah a bit of gambling factored in. Then there are schemes that need the right "tuning" of skills and temperament and a factor of fitting with the team and accounting for players already on the team. Then weigh in the late round draft picks and UDF gold struck versus the busts and also weigh the many times a player was allowed to walk pretty darn close to the moment their skills fall off the cliff against a couple let go too early.

One last comment: Sheesh!

About the only scenario I could tolerate a superior Jets team.

Look I like BB as much as the next guy but stop hanging from his jock.

How quickly we forget his Agholor and the others waste of cap.

BB always seems to give up an extra pick on any major deal. Good thing he stock piles the shit out of late rounders.

Hell some of his best picks are late rounds or UDFA.

Amazing! How many of you think BB can do no wrong.

As I mentioned already I like BB as much as anyone. But he is not without fault.

Are there better coaches out there? Well I'm waiting to see. Without Brady he hasn't done anything. Maybe, just maybe it was Brady.

Maybe just maybe the game is passing him by?

This season will speak volumes to me.

I was thinking about the possibility of a Fournette or Blount? Just a big back to give stevenson a spell. I just don't like going into the season with Stevenson and Strong as the 1-2.

All these reports about looking for more offense. Hmmm maybe the Pats see it as a weakness also?

Meant to say Bount type. Just a big bruiser type. Don't need a lot of carries or production. Mainly short yardage.

Suppose this came to pass do you feel it would be more Kraft making an announcement or more BB telling us it's time to step aside?

2010-2019

Which five teams won the most games in the decade that just passed, and where do they rank on the list?

New England (most wins, t-2nd most quality players drafted)

Green Bay (t-2nd most wins, t-2nd most quality players drafted)

Pittsburgh (t-2nd most wins, t-6 most quality players drafted)

New Orleans (t-4th most wins, t-4th most quality players drafted)

Seattle (t-4th most wins, most quality players drafted)

Drafting matters a lot in the NFL.

Of course, our Jets sit at the bottom of the list. I figured they would rate low, but I didn’t realize things were this bleak. Sorry for ruining your Saturday with this reminder of drafting futility.

all teams hit and miss but but brady did it alone lol
