Man that loss last night stunk. They looked tired again but i thought Torts and his lineup changes last night hurt us more than anything.

Please trade Risto and free up that money.
Not sure why he went 11 forwards and 7 dmen. Rhett Gardner and Deslauriers played a little over 7 minutes. TK played 26 minutes. Not a good combination.

GG this afternoon. Back in the win column and we avenge a recent loss to the Flames. Huge team victory with lots of teammates backing each other up all over the ice and after the whistle during scrums. Lots of physical play and some questionable hits, especially by the Flames. They had to answer for each one of them however.

We overcame 0-1 and 1-2 deficits to win 3-2 in regulation. Frost cleaned up the garbage in front for our first, tipping home a rebound. Couturier banked one off Markstrom from below the goal line for a power play goal to knot it at 2 late in the 2nd. Konecny finished up the scoring early in the 3rd via a shorthanded, breakaway goal that really got the building rocking. The shot was just over the pad and below the arm, perfectly placed. We were able to shut them down for the remainder.

Travis Konecny is obviously our one elite goal scorer, but I can't stress how much Sean Couturier does for this team. He had the massive power play goal, 8 shots, 2 takeaways, 16 faceoff wins and led all Flyer skaters with over 24 minutes played. When this guy is on the ice, it's literally like playing with an extra defenseman. He plays a full 200 foot game and in all situations. The guy is almost always in the right spot and making the right play with the puck. Quite frankly, idk why he doesn't have the C on his chest yet. Perhaps this will happen in the offseason.

While we still have players such as Atkinson, Foerster, Farabee and Tippett that aren't scoring much or at all as of late, the top line and penalty killing are repeatedly rising to the challenge. Our goalies shouldn't be left out of this either. Both of them are getting the job done frequently.

Massive game Monday night in Philly against arguably our biggest rivals (Shitsburgh), who may only be two points back of us at puck drop.

Def a nice win today very gutsy kept coming back. PP struggling they just need a specialist out there but Pk is making up for it.

On another note Cutter is looking great nice to hear that he can play C or LW as I think they'll need a C by the time he's ready.

Kill the penqueens Monday and everything will be good.

I agree 100% with this.

It was a good team win and we played with guts but also played very smart and didn't fall into their traps to goon it up.

They are scumbags for all the hits to the backs of players along the boards.

Cutter was named the best forward of the tourney and a spot on the all media team. He was really good at faceoffs in the WJC and look pretty good at center.

It would be nice to follow up Saturdays win with 2 points tonight.

I cant say enough about the toughness of Cam York. he has 12 blocked shots in the last 3 games and is 2nd on the team.

Nick Seeler is team leader with 104 and tied for 5th in the league.

Hats off to Joel Farabee for standing up to those dirt bag Flames and dropping his gloves to stick up for York. The tide shifted from that point on.

Pens are marginally favored. Bookies are not believers.

Woahhh. Twitter saying Gauthier didn’t want to sign with the Flyers.

Drysdale is no joke for the return though. Probably the highest ceiling dman they have now and maybe the best one already. RHD. Signed for 3 years at 2.3 on a bridge deal, so he’ll be rfa at the end of it.

Might lose a bit in terms of overall talent, but Drysdale could be a legit top pair RHD and the flyers desperately needed something promising there.

Gauthier is a great player, but Drysdale is not that much inferior of a prospect (especially if Gauthier is a long-term winger, and coincidentally in their press release Anaheim announced him as a left wing), he’s just been hurt a lot with only 18 NHL games played since the 2022 season. At the top of his game, he looked like a projected top pair defenseman in the NHL due to his elite skating combined with strong puck-moving ability although he’s not that big. When healthy as he has been for the last few weeks, he looks like a minute-eating defenseman. It’s easy to forget how good he looked as a teenager coming up a few years ago in the Ducks organization.

From Pronman.

Overall the Ducks getting A ratings and the Flyers B ratings from the Athletic.

I just saw this crazy kids he apparently wouldn't even meet with management demanded a trade. Good job getting something back and a RHD is never a bad option. Cross our fingers this ends up being great for Philly. Plus he can play immediately.

This team just keeps getting farther away from the goal of rebuilding. Upper management still seems to be a disaster. Oh well, maybe we can be the new Columbus in the East, don't see this team coming close to sniffing a cup for many years to come. Might as well get rid of Hart to see what you can get now. Nice to have my Avs to watch though.

If he doesn't score he doesn't help this team, we have 1-2 guys who can put the puck in goal consistently. Guys like Laughton, Atkinson etc need to move on and be replaced with better talent, quit signing never has beens and never will be's! Time to hit the reset button.

If cutter dies before tomorrow does the trade still go thru? Doesn't want to play in Philly? Huh?

Just wondering how trading a guy that won't talk to or play for you for a 21 year old offensive DMan and a 2nd round pick is getting us farther away from a rebuild?

It's not just that though, when the trade deadline comes were either going to have to unload quite a few players or eat a shit sandwich in the off season. Also the hype surrounding this great Dman is he's seriously injury prone, been there done that. If you keep changing the atmosphere and chemistry, teams never gel

They've made it clear that they are not going to sacrifice long term gains for short term results. I would expect 2/3 more guys to be gone before the trade deadline. I guess I'm not really getting what this management has done that would make you mad. They seam to be executing a plan to get younger, shed salary, and get deeper with talent.

Ya, not a lot you can do if the guy says he won't sign. Have to trade him. And getting a potential top pair RHD that's 21 in return for him is about as good of a return as you could hope for. Plus a 2nd rounder. Honestly, I would rather have swapped Gauthier for a potential top pair dman. The organization needs that more, especially if Gauthier doesn't play center in the NHL, which apparently seems like the direction now after the Ducks and Flyers both referred to him as a LW in the press after the deal.

You lose a bit of shine because Drysdale hasn't blown the doors of the NHL and has been injured a bunch. If he can overcome that and be the prospect he was touted to be, I love this deal. Obviously a big if, but Gauthier isn't a guarantee either. Let's see how he does in the NHL before we get too carried away panning the trade.

One big concern I had, in addition to lacking high end talent, was that they didn't have anything 'top pair caliber' on the d-side of things. And that is usually the part that takes longer to develop. So they were heading down a path of the forward group being set, the goalies being set, but the defense being a real problem and being a long way from fixing it. The foundation of the rebuild looks a little more balanced after the Drysdale/Gauthier trade.
