This team is really coming together and I don't think anyone (even the couple of complete idiots on this board) can argue that Coots and TK aren't magical together right now. They are a legitimate, elite top line duo. The pass Coots made to spring TK for the first goal last night was ridiculous. TK is a goal scoring machine and several youngsters are starting to snipe pucks home too...Farabee, Tippett and Foerster to name a few.

Carter Hart is playing perhaps the best hockey of his career and I don't even think he has had to be THAT great because he's getting so much help defensively via blocked shots and just all hands on deck when needed. When he needs a break, Ersson is playing very well in relief too. Somehow our defense is better without the likes of Provy. Sanheim, York, Walker, Seeler and Zamula are growing into steady Nhl defenders before our very eyes. They're even scoring goals lately too.

Our penalty killing and ability to score first and dominate games start to finish on the road are right up there with perhaps any other team in the Nhl right now. Sure, we definitely got some puck luck last night, but we also kind of earned it. I thought we made Colorado look kind of bad on their home ice. Netted 5 goals and it probably could've been more if we're being real.

Noah Cates (a very good, young player for us) remains out, but since we have Couturier getting back into form and Laughton/Frost in the mix, you barely notice it at all. We have the depth this season that we did not have last season, virtually at every position.

About the only thing we can't do is score on the power play, but we kill penalties and score shorthanded so often that it hardly matters as of late.

I absolutely love my Flyers right now.
A decade of completely worthless hockey seems to be ending. Gotta love it.

Ok so what are the top line guys getting paid? What's a top 2nd line center worth, if you're a hater of one of our best players?
If by "hater" you mean realistic then yes I'm a hater. If you think Couts is going to get traded at 31 years old with an 8 million dollar contract until 2030 with a NMC straight up for a 1st round pick I'm sorry to say you are just plain delusional. Lets not forget injury prone just sayin.

You're right! i dont know anything about hockey or the Flyers. I guess i should take your advice and day dream about getting a 1st round straight up for Couts this year and take your advice and keep Walker and possibly lose him for nothing at the end of the season. We dont even need Danny B we should just hire you. :L

We're not trading Coots, so no sense in even having that conversation anymore. Nobody is taking on that contract, 1st liner or not. If we're in contention at years end your main concern is going to be how to get stronger I dont know what can you realistically give up. If we make the playoffs, I say stand pat. You have talent more talent coming in next season and we shed dead skin as in Delaureis etc.

We have Walker and Seeler who are UFAs next year and Hart, Brink, Zamula and Tippett are RFAs next year so standing pat is not an option.

Well, I think Walker is the true exception. The others IMO can be resigned here. Like I said, you're going to shed some dead skin too.

Walker makes 2.7 million now, we would probably have to sign him for $3.8 to 4 million a year or higher for at least 3 years to keep him from going into free agency.

That would put our top 3 guys on defense making $15.3 million for at least the next 3 plus years That's 16% of the salary cap on 3 defenseman and none of the are a bona fide top pair defenseman.

No, I meant Walker was the exception who you had to trade. Right now this is all speculation that we're going to end up with a strong season, I hope we do. I've seen this movie too many times to get to wrapped up in the emotional part anymore. I'm not being a negative Nancy just been there done that. I have to see full scale turnaround before my excitement level hits peak status.

I agree 100% that we have seen this too many times before only for the rug to get pulled out from under our feet.

I hope it lasts as i am enjoying the ride right now.

Of course we aren't trading any of those other players besides Walker. i was just pointing our who the money would go to when we do trade him

It would be great if we could get rid of Risto and split that money between Walker Seeler, Brink and Zamula. :suds:

from the Atletic

“I don’t think anybody wants us to win,” said Hart, who stopped 36 shots and secured his third win in as many starts. “I think that definitely fires us up and fuels the fire for us to prove everyone wrong, and it just strengthens our belief in each other in here.

“We all love each other. We all get along so well. We have such a tight group here. Everybody is willing to fight for the next guy standing beside them. That’s crucial right now, and how we’re playing — everybody has each other’s backs.”

Ive been pointing this out for years. I've had thousands of post saying the same exact things as written in this article.
And I’ve been pointing out for a while, these “writers” read this board for their articles. Maybe they’re all “Crispy” in disguise.

Settle down, skippy. The team sucked for a decade. Try to enjoy the season.

You still haven't told me what a fucking center is worth. Simple question. You act like you know, but maybe you don't.

I'm not sure if this is a good comment on me or not. I hope I don't come off as some journalistic hack. Maybe I do? Also I definitely would write better articles.

Alright tough guy I'm settled down try not to break your keyboard with all the flexing your trying to do.

I haven't told you because anyone that knows anything about hockey knows different centers have different values but hey you may know more than the whole hockey world.

I have seen articles that Toronto is interested in Risto. They have had a few long term injuries on the back end. I find it hard to believe, but there are articles.
