Probably a combination of contract status (none are signed that long), and his expectation that they're 'just guys'. They might fill those 3rd pair roles, but at this point they aren't held in high enough esteem to pencil them in to the 5-yr lineup projection.

He has Andrae and Grans in the "has a chance to play NHL games" tier of his rankings. Attard I guess has aged out of his prospect rankings at 24 years old. He was in the 'Projected to play NHL games" tier in his 2021 ranking. Zamula was also in that category last year.
Zamula is only 23 and in 3 years when he gets stronger he will be on this team sans a contract issue or a trade. You heard it here first. :D

I am not quite sure why the Rangers get the best of us but I think we have a mental issue with those sonsabitches. Another loss. The Flyers had a different mindset when they beat the defending champs. What the hell is wrong with our guys in the head when we play the Rangers??

Well they played that game with a lot less heart. Gonna get you every time.

Another loss avenged as Ersson outduels Sorokin, one of the best goalies in the Nhl, and Foerster clinches it in the shootout. This was definitely a well-earned road victory against a hated division rival that we normally don't have much success against. A total team effort and while Sorokin is elite, I think he remains about as lucky as can be against us with 40 saves and zero bad bounces ending up in his net. Even in the shootout, he may have gotten a piece of the attempt by Coots, but I swear the post saved him.

Either way, at 11-9-1, our Flyers remain very hungry and feisty. It does seem like we're learning lessons game by game and constantly improving. Now with some veterans returning defensively, younger guys that are prone to make mistakes aren't shouldering so much of the load.

Really looking forward to the next four games against division rivals, three of them on home ice. Would absolutely love to stick it to Pitt and NJ, who are actually BOTH below us in the standings. How fucking embarrassing is that for them at this stage?

We are 2nd in the league in shots against per game (27.00) and 6th in the league in shots for per game (32.29)

Second in the league at SF and SA ratio.

Lots of blocked shots and Torts system to be credited for that.

We have 21 games played which is exactly one quarter of the season.

We have 23 points putting us on pace for 92 points to end the season.

92 was the last team in the playoffs in the East last season. Wasn't good enough to make it in the West.

That will stink if we get that many points and dont make the playoffs and still get a bad draft spot.

Well you know Torts is a defensive first type of coach, unfortunately.

Or fortunately that we have Torts to put a good system in place.
Yes but at some point and time you're going to have to let your offense flourish, we're not always gonna score goals on our PK, we need a couple of pure shooters, and even then Torts would handcuff them. The one thing I've never liked about his coaching style.

We average exactly 3 goals per game a little under the middle of the pack and that's without any help from our PP. If our PP could score at least one per game wed be up around 3.5 which would put us in the top 10.

The problem is we can't find those three goals when we need them or against most elite teams.

Purdue your boys are the new number one team in the country!!!!:thumb:
A blessing and a curse.

They played street basketball in the Maui Tourney against Gonzaga and Tennessee. Got the best of those brawls and they were brawls. Marquette was against a fast / athletic team. Played just well enough.

It all comes down to what happens in March
