Trevino with a 3 for 3 day with 2 doubles.

I feel the same way. But if he can bring a little bit of depth to the rotation it’s not too bad. 6 innings of 3-4 runs a game isn’t too terrible.
Will work as a bridge and insurance policy.

I don’t care… give him a shot. If he does ok great , if not no big loss. Needed someone to eat innings while our pitching gets the needed development and not throw out to the wolves too early
He once had a great change up but could never keep his cool. No one brought him here to be a winning piece

The box score tonight on the Rangers site. Not much media coverage.

She with the MLB a app would not black out all home games and Astro games. So do her live coverage I have to stay up for west coast games
Really needs to change

Definitely true.
He’s been an AVG ERA+ pitcher over the last 2 years. Had his highest K/9 last year and one of his best BB/9 as well.
There’s reason for optimism, not much, but a little.
Definitely brought in as a depth piece though.
He’s a Ranger now and I’ll be rooting for him.

Very rough. It is 14 AB though..
Would love to see him go 4-4 with 2 HRs soon lol

Wonder who will have a better 5 year stretch from 2022-2026?

Marteen is a reclamation project. Nothing wrong with that. There is talent. Nothing overwhelming.
Maybe he has gotten some maturity. Boston is a tough town to pitch in I would think from a mental standpoint.
Without even looking at his stats I would think he is a guy you would want to throw a lot of ground balls to utilize our signings

With a 28 man roster for a bit. Am I working in thinking we really want a few guys to piggy back off our SP so to be able to bring in and go a few innings. Maybe once through the order ?

Yeah They plan on using the extra spots for the bullpen to keep the arms fresh.

When comparing some of these top draft picks.. who is facing the tougher pitching??
I’m not “in the know” on the quality of the pitching in all the different conferences.
I would assume Jung and Parata would be facing the harder pitching?

So far who do y’all hope we draft?
I’m not a big fan of drafting any of the high school guys that will be available to us in the first round. Too much swing and miss on the hitters and not enough polish on the pitchers.

I have said from the beginning that I would like to roll with a combo of Alexy, Otto, Allard and Burke for the final two spots in the rotation. Now they have Perez, but I would hope he comes with a quick leash and that he would be sent to the pen if he doesn't do well, not just nearly passable.

I get it’s spring training - but currently Rangers with best record in all of spring training!!!! Need to build a winning culture after last season. Little by little. Looking forward to the season with a competitive team.

I like the high school guys, but I will wait and see what the scouts say after their seasons. The only one I have heard might have a swing and miss problem is Green.

DeLauter has been my favorite, but still too early to say for sure.

Since the Rangers don’t get a 2nd or 3rd round pick I wonder if that will help them(scouts) focus on 4th round and after types allowing us to get some steals later in the draft.

Without those picks we are going to have to be very concerned anout not having to pay over slot. That may hamper who we can pick.
