Evan thinks to clear up 3 roster spots the Rangers will "trade a catcher, send Leclerc to 60 and either Yonni or Evans DFA. Don’t think huge risk of losing this year. Think teams won’t make big roster changes off short spring."

Has Holland even pitched this spring? Is there a roster crunch needed for his moves?

Seen some musings about Trevino being the one traded when the Garver acquisition was made, have been looking for that article but can't find it... :noidea:

Jonah Heim should consider dropping the switch hitting and try hiting right handed all the time. Just my opinion

My main goal for the minor leaguers this year is to have these ten guys remain healthy all year and take a step forward in the development, a step that is shown in their numbers. Five pitchers and five hitters are in this category.

Winn
Leiter
Vanasco
Roby
White
Crim
Harris
Foscue
Smith
Duran

My secondary goals are to have two or three pitchers step up to join those other five pitchers as guys to really be excited about, and have a couple of hitters do the same. Maybe guys like Acker, Slaten, Bradford, Weems, Bratt, Ragans and some others. Maybe, a couple of hitter like Carter, Morrobel, Lora, Saggesse, Zavala, Acuna, or Cauley step forward in the same manner.

Thirdly, and unfortunately, this seems the least likely so far, it would be great to have Sam Huff become a legitimate top five to ten level prospect again.

This last thing seems like a pipedream, but it sure would be great if Chris Seise stayed healthy all year and showed promise again.

Expected return: Late April
White had an internal brace surgery to repair a torn UCL in his right elbow that ended his 2021 season in August. He has been progressing well and went through most of his rehab during the lockout. White started throwing to bases on March 14 and is progressing quicker than expected. He’ll be able to do as much hitting and defensive work as possible throughout camp, but he shouldn’t be expected to be a full go in game action until after Opening Day. He finished last season with a .177/.259/.308 slash line with six homers and one triple.

does this mean White opens the season on the 15-day IL?

He's played in the OF for 2 ST games and DHed for 2 others, unless he has a setback he seems like he's good to go...

this was posted on the TR website which seems to say that he is still in the recovery stage until Late April.
