In my opinion, this offseason was intended to be all about the offense. midseason this year and next offseason will focus on pitching.

If I am not mistaken, her projection is the exact same as Levi Weaver's was.

And if I was to bet, I'd say that was more or less the plan the FO established after the draft and the trade deadline last year.

If we are planning to compete this is absolutely the thing to do

But if we are still in a rebuild and are wanting a look see at some of our young players like White and Ibanez and even want to give Solak and Calhoun one final chance then perhaps we stand pat. To bring on more players we have to create roster spots

I would Raheem stand pat and maybe add pitching next year. Maybe an OF but I doubt it

either path makes sense just how you do it. signing someone good to a one-year deal now makes sense but just standing pat and signing 1 quality SP next year also makes sense

A funny thing happened on the way to finishing the rebuild. Two players became available who would not be available at the end of the rebuild, Seagar and Semien. The Rangers didn't finish the offseason incomplete, as far as where they wished to be at this point. They finished ahead of schedule. They got their two best free agents a year or two early because that is when the window opened for them to be acquired. It would have been a mistake to wait longer to acquire them, so they did the smart thing.

This rebuild has always focused on building up the bulk of a pennant winning team through the farm. When most of those guys have come up is when our window opens. That has always been the plan even when some of us (me for one) doubted it.
