I'm excited about the WR's and LB's in this draft. So much speed and aathleticism. Things we sorely need.

Which means BB won't get a WR and try to get a plug a play guy to fill in at WR.. I can see him getting a LB in the draft but NOT a WR

This one is so out of the box that it almost seems like something that could happen. Not 100% behind ths guy's picks but certainly wouldn't botch much about the first four.

Don't like the picks,
Don't like the logic,
Don't like the projects,
The trade is rediculously bad for Boofalow - never happen!
Yeah, let's take all the cripple and out of position players we can get and get rid of arguably the best punter in NFL.....

Here is my pick for the Patriots next ROY guard. Pick him up in the 3rd or 4th if you feel lucky!

He is a guard but has the physical traits to be a tackle. And Like Onwenu did, he has the longest arms in the draft. Another behemoth to fortify the line but won't get him as cheap as we got Onwenu?????

Here's a couple of late rond Guard sleepers:

Marcus McKethan

Lecitus Smith

There are at least 10 guards with 3rd round potential. Those and the others in 4th and 5th means that there will be a lot of good lineman available and dropping to late.
I see very little difference between the 3-4 rounders compare to the 1st rounders. Very bottom heavy draft at OL.
I would not be surprised to see no guards picked on day 1!

Patriots working out

27.
Houston image
Marcus Jones, CB, Houston
Height: 5-8. Weight: 185. Arm: 28.88. Hand: 8.88.
Projected 40 Time: 4.50.
Projected Round (2022): 5-7.
View Ranking History

3/19/22: Jones was one of the most dangerous ball hawks in college football in 2021, putting up some fabulous ball production. He notched five interceptions, 13 passes broken up and 47 tackles on the year. Over his career, he totaled 32 passes broken up and 10 interceptions. While Jones (5-8, 185) plays the ball well, his size limitations make him a slot candidate only in the NFL.

He would be an effective clot QB but not getting drafted early because of his height. They neglected to mention that he is a "ship-wrecking" return man. I doubt he gets drafter before 6th round but he would be a better return man than Gunner was! (opinion) elevate his grade thanks to his electric ability on special teams. 10 returns for TD's in college.

  • Twitchy, explosive and versatile.
  • Hits top speed almost instantly.
  • Shop-wrecking special-teams talent with nine career return touchdowns.
  • Makes initial tackler miss and ignites downhill.
  • Scrappy as an outside corner against much bigger players.
  • Smooth hips are able to open and redirect with no pause.
  • Crowds into receiver's frame from early in the route.
  • Quick backpedal with prompt plant-to-drive transition.
  • Instinctive, aware and communicative from off coverage.
  • Opts for the playmaking close-out angles on the throw.
  • Gather-and-bounce athleticism to compete on jump balls.
  • Races downhill to wrap legs as tackler.
  • Early season 2021 reps at wideout are intriguing.

5" 8" is something to worry about in the NFL. A 6'3" WR at Pappie Papa's College vs a legit 6'3" NFL receiver is another thing, unless it' Harry. This being said he is projected between rounds 5 and 7 so if he lands to us in round cool.

Working my way through cornerbacks today. Only liked 2 out of top 35 at projected draft position
1st was Marcus Jones (above)
2nd is
35.
Texas Tech image
DaMarcus Fields, CB, Texas Tech
Height: 6-0. Weight: 193. Arm: 31.25. Hand: 9.13.
40 Time: 4.48.
Vertical: 34.5.
Projected Round (2022): 6-FA.

3/19/22: In 2021, Fields totaled 45 tackles and 10 passes broken up.

"7/17/21: Fields is a gritty corner who has competed well for Texas Tech over the past four seasons. He had 50 tackles as a freshman, 54 stops and three interceptions as a sophomore, and broke up 11 passes during both the 2018 and 2020 seasons. Fields is sleeper who could rise, but he needs to show the ability to run with speed receivers in his fifth season with the Red Raiders."

After wading through the cornerbacks, I do not believe Marcus Jones will be drafted later than the 4th round.

This kid is a scrappy, smart football player with elite athleticism. We have taken much worse chances. Everything he does is driven!

Explosive return game

The most impressive part of UH football’s special teams unit was the return game headlined week-after-week with senior cornerback Marcus Jones’ renowned kick returns. Jones’ most noted move came against SMU where he took back a kickoff in the final seconds of the game to give UH the lead.

Jones ranked first in the nation in punt return touchdowns and second in the nation in kickoff returns for touchdowns. He was the only player in the country with multiple touchdowns in both return categories with two in each.

Jones led the nation in yards per kickoff return, averaging 34 yards per return and he ranked fourth in yards per punt return at 14.4 yards per return.

The Cougars return game was electrified under Jones, his efforts earned him the honor of being named the 2021 Paul Hornung Award winner for being the most versatile player in college football as well as the American Athletic Conference special teams player of the year.

NFL.COM:

21. Patriots – Ahmad Gardner, Cornerback, Cincinnati

The Patriots have officially lost JC Jackson in free agency, creating a huge hole in their secondary. That makes Gardner an obvious pick at this stage in the draft coming off an All-American season at Cincinnati.

Gardner was the best defensive player in the AAC in 2021 and was a first-team all-conference selection in all three of his seasons with the Bearcats. At 6’3’’, Gardner brings incredible size and physicality to the cornerback position, giving him a ton of upside and the type of corner who can be valuable to an NFL defense for a long time.

I'm with Carnzo on this one. 6th round no earlier. The 5'-8" is really only an issue on short passes, especially in the red zone. Can NE sub a taller guy in for those situations?

This kid can cover all over the field.

Maybe he's the new Slater. Full-time ST if he gets burnt too much. Wouldn't it be great to have a Devin Hester type returner? Then again with the constant rule changes who knows?

This would be a dream. But NE would likely need to move up to at least 15 to get this kid.

This draft could be interesting. Lots of teams looking for a shut down type CB. He, Stingley and McDuffie may all be top 20 picks. Especially with the strength at WR and OL. I can see teams running scared and jumping on the first two early.
Have to wait and see how the draft plays out.

Stingley is a bad pick in 1st round. It will happen but it is a high risk draft.
