He's in for a visit
Yeah, that's what got my attention. He was buried on the prospect list for a variety of reasons.
Now that I have filtered the top 35 prospects at CB, he is the most exciting.
There are a few better prospects but he will be available on the cheap.
Worst case scenario, we have an all pro return specialist.
Upside? He outperformed most all of the other prospects - even the top 10!

Compare Marquis Jones to the top 10 CB's

3/19/22: Jones was one of the most dangerous ball hawks in college football in 2021, putting up some fabulous ball production. He notched five interceptions, 13 passes broken up and 47 tackles on the year.

1) Stingley
totaled 27 tackles, a forced fumble and five passes broken up
2) Sauce Gardner 31 tackles, three interceptions and 11 passes defended.
3) McDuffie 35 tackles and six passes broken up
4) Hill recorded 69 tackles, two interceptions and eight passes broken up.

Exactly! This year's CB draft is a real crap shoot! I can't justify virtually anybody's placement in the top ten this year.
As I mentioned I think they go high. Two reasons; these three really separate themself from the rest of the pack, and you can find quality WRs and OL later on.

I challenge anyone to name a CB with better ball hawking skills or better coverage stats this draft.

I'm working on WR's today. I'm not getting excited.
Few WR1's all seem to be going in 1st round.

Most all are coming with recent injuries, slow, average hands, or other reasons to expect a low ceiling.
Many will be 2's, if lucky. Most will be backups.
As fast as the combine timed, most are close to 5 seconds.

To summarize what I have found so far, Looks like very few #1's available and they are not locks.

Best OT prospect in the draft. Won't last to 21

3/19/22: Penning is a big tackle who has surprising quickness and athleticism to go along with excellent size and length. In both phases, Penning is a tough blocker. He has upside to grow at the pro level. Penning had a good performance at the Senior Bowl and showed a real mean streak to finish off defensive linemen.

Most of the top picks at Tackle will either:
Move to Guard or,
Need to bulk up (and lose their footwork)
Have to learn or
Not have ideal size (we are already dealing with that with Wynn.
Wynn's not "long enough" at tackle. He has his ankles taped hard and can't move to blockers going around him. Arms to short to grab at a speed rusher.

There are a few good tackles available. most are projects.
Remember, at tackle, those who are close to natural weight are going to keep their athleticism better than those who look like athletes but have to buck up and lose their athleticism

A three-year collegiate starter at left tackle, he dominated in the lower-level FCS, with scouting gushing about his overwhelming physicality and aggressiveness.
Lance Zierlein wrote in Penning’s NFL.com draft profile that he “plays with a level of disgust for anyone lining up against him and seeks out violent block finishes when possible,” praising his “gritty, throwback field demeanor.”
Penning’s writeup in Pro Football Focus’s 2022 draft guide says his “tape at Northern Iowa looks like someone’s dad subbed into a Pop Warner game.”
“(He has) the kind of physicality that transcends competition level,” PFF wrote. “He is out for blood.”
Penning also is highly athletic, testing in the 89th percentile in the broad jump, the 97th percentile in the 40-yard dash and the 98th percentile in the three-cone drill at 6-foot-7, 325 pounds. He’ll need to clean up some of his technique and prove he can handle the massive jump in competition level, but he’s expected to be an immediate starter at either left or right tackle.

I think I brought up Faalele already but if it sounds familiar this draft projection is almost exactly the same as Onwenu was.
Longest arms in the draft. Another really big dude! He'll be a long trip to run around!
That is a very fast 40 for a 387 pound athlete
24 bench reps is very good for a 6'8" player!

Daniel Faalele, OT, Minnesota
Height: 6-8. Weight: 387. Arm: 35.38. Hand: 11.00.
Projected 40 Time: 5.30.
Bench: 24.
Projected Round (2022): 1-3.

3/19/22: Faalele turned in a solid 2021 season, including in Week 1 against Ohio State. He will have to play right tackle or guard at the next level because his feet are too slow for left tackle. In pass protection, sometimes Faalele's feet seem to get stuck in the ground. He has excellent size and length that make him tough to run around, but he also as some limitations in speed, athleticism and movement. At the Senior Bowl, Faalele was decent, but he did not dominate.

Excellent read:

We can likely get this guy in the 2nd round!!!!!

Yes, we both brought him up.

Foot speed and lack of experience are his biggest weaknesses.
His strengths are many.

An excellent book end to Trent Brown.
Not sure he is NFL ready yet. Oddly enough his biggest asset is his lack of experience. He has the tools but lacks the years of training, this being said if his ceiling is as high as it appears to be he could be a solid pick up

He is as green as it gets. Watching his highlights, the errors jump off the page.
These are things that are mostly easy to coach up
I'm thinking that he can be coached into a top starter. What I don't know is how long that will take
The interview process might answer that question somewhat
Regular IQ questions might give an idea how quickly he can learn
I'm pretty certain that he cannot be a first year starter at LT, Maybe backup RT.
Defenses scouting him will love using smart veteran rushers to fool him.

I'm hoping God didn't spend all his genes on strength and size!

Make him a deal he can't refuse to stay on our practice squad?
